Imo he doesn't have the qualities a DM should have in Barca. Defensively, sure. But having the vision, link up, passing range, decision making, speed ect not in my book. Ideally we try to sign cover for Xavi and Busi at the same time and buy a new backup CB since Puyi is not holding up. The Fazio rumor is getting stronger, even Swedish media has run the story a couple of weeks ago and now again. Pique, Masch, Bartra and Fazio would be alright, with Bartra getting more and more minutes.

I think Halilović from Dinamo is the only 'clear' rumour atm. We're also being linked with Fazio from Sevilla, imo good backup - better to have Bartra as third choice and give him more and more of Masch'es minutes instead of paying big money and taking a big risk on somebody else.

Bartra and Masch. Getting a starter wouldn't hurt, but I don't think getting a 4th choice instead would be the end of the world.
