We have no money
Barca could get tons of money, they are credit worthy. But current management has been pretty disciplined about sticking to the budget, the annual acquisition budget was Neymar.
Most January acquisitions are panicky, not many look good in retrospect. Pickings are slim in the winter window. I could see the team going for an Afellay type of CB buy now. Not long-term solution, just a cost-effective depth addition for the second half of the season.
I will always be grateful to Puyol, but I don't think he can be trusted in games that count anymore. I think Tata must be about ready to drop him out of the rotation for the rest of the season. With some luck, alternating 3 CBs will be enough.
Mmmmm yeah borrow £200 million so we can get some new blood in .. Pronto !
