Just imagine if we had signed this cat...he moved to City just a year before we spent 160m on freaking Coutinho!

Would have probably been the signing of a decade at Barca...Unbelievable player. World class personified.

Tripleta in 2015 was worst thing that happened to Barca ever. Result is Bartomeu becoming president even though ex administration bought players like Suarez, Rakitic, Bravo...

His first few signings were Arda Turan, Andre Gomes, Lenglet...Then spending money on Coutinho and Griezmann.

Fu** you soscios, everyone that given vote to this rat.

Would definitely solve a few positional issues for us. Plus the 100m hole in our budget with accounting magic.

Personally I wouldn't do it in a straight swap though. Frenkie should be worth more.

Will be a better swap for City than Barcelona if do that.

FDJ would balance their midfield where have abundance of AMs and Foden maturing.

Silva would be good for Barca and Xavis x2 AMs but the structure of team is still not there and going to be isolated wide players in a front three.

Busi/Pedri/Silva... aye that is a midfied to take on the other top sides physically. Would get destroyed on break even more so than now. However if get in a better DM and play Pedri as more of the all round box to box type could be decent. Lacks physicality big time though and that is huge in centre of the park.

100m?

There wont be huge room for any accounting trick with this deal.

Classic Bartomeu switcheroo. Won't even have to inflate prices too much :S

I imagine the biggest pull for selling Frenkie is actually fixing our FFP problem. But a potential right side of Silva-Raphina looks tasty and much better than what we currently have. "Wide wingers" need to be fixed by Xavi and the DM issue is independent of Frenkie/Silva. Though I am sure Frenkie would be our best option at taking over deep midfield progressions from Busquets (we would still need another DM).

You'd do yourself a favour to find out who uses this quote most often bro

If he joined instead of Coutinho and a year earlier he'd be scrubbing decks at Meelan like Bakayoko

Frenkie still has a fair bit of value of around 30/40m on books I think and they wont do it as 100m which they would only make around 60m on anway then have to take probaly 20m off that for Silva value on books.

So even if did it at 100m you are looking at around 40m profit this season and then a Silva on books costing 20m a season.

Would save some through FDJ salary most likely but that gets saved regardless of if inflate fee or not.

I reckon FDJ is more valuable player in that deal and Barca push for more players or some of fee off Torres.

The question is whether we can sell him now and write the win into this seasons/years account and the losses into next (rest amortization, cost for Silva etc pp) or not. I mean accounting is a magical realm.

I wonder though. Who would be the absolute best use of FdJ funds? (No Haaland btw).

I don't think we would lose too much in midfield and that Soler/Kessie will be sufficient replacements for depth there.

I wanted him to have 18 months when Xavi come in, but it's becoming clearer that we aren't making use of him for an extended period. When the team is good, Frenkie is good, and when the team is off Frenkie is off. You don't pay 80m for a midfielder who doesn't stand out.

Swap FDJ for Rodri and we have our Busquets replacement.
