Carlos Tevez

Berba-Owen is a way slower combination than Ronaldo-Tevez. The latter duo had a high work rate (yeah even Ronaldo), exactly the way Ferguson wanted them. I just don`t see Owen and Berbatov pressuring the defenses and helping much while defending.

Ronaldo did as you say surprisingly have a high work rate but he used it efficiently(sp?) rather then wasting his energy but he always busted a gut when playing IMO!Yeah thats true but i can't see them been on the pitch together muh it will always be Rooney with either one supporting him!

Expect big things out of Rooney this season :worthy:

Berbatov pisses all over Tevez as a player
Owen sores more goals then Tevez does
need i say anymore?

owen sores more goals?
Berbatov is the most lazy player ever i don't know what he does for united tevez brings a lot more energy and pace and owen is always to busy treating his injuries to sore any goals.

One spelling mistake mate jesus i know ye are bitter but come on can ye really be that bitter?i feel sorry for you i really do

Yeah Owen scores more goals then Tevez does..look up the statistics from last season when he was"too busy treating injuries" and you will see that!% goals in the league from a striker  Vidic nearly got that many from center back FFS

Berbatov has abit of class that Tevez works why do you think he works so yhard?Because he lacks the class that Berbatov has! What he does for United he scored 14 goals and 12 assists which for somebody that does "nothing" its a pretty good record in my book!

berbatov really isn't lazy.

he looks lazy, he looks languid, but he's not.

he covers plenty of ground and if you watch him with perceptive eyes (so your brain needs to be on) you'll see he does a lot of blocking, standing in the passing lanes so the defender can't get an easy pass off to the midfielder and has to go sideways. he doesn't run around like a nutter because that's a retarded waste of energy. when tevez starts he's routinely gassed out around the hour mark coz he wastes all his energy running around like he's just done a line of charlie and someone put the prodigy on.

the big criticism of berba is that his play is too slow. it's a problem. I mean in the middle third of the pitch he plays it cool and mostly keeps possession, and in the final third he does have it in him to spring to life and play really quick. of course the problem is he doesn't play quick often enough. but that comes down to sharpness and will improve with time I feel.

anyway, I agree with bojan, while berba and owen aren't slow, neither is as quick as ronaldo and that searing pace is something they could miss. although obertan is a speed demon and valencia's pretty pacy too... so I dunno.

A quality striker?C'mon mate you must be thinking of a different player..he is a good player but he is not a quality striker and never will be he doesn't score enough for that tag IMO and he is a mercenary aswell don't be surprised if he says he loves ye and then requests a leave in say three years

Fergie saw him play week in week out and still wanted to pay 25 million to keep him.

So either Fergie is wrong or your are. Take your pick.

See here is a top poster who knows his shit...do you not get embarrsed by getting nearly everything spot on

and Blueduck Fergie gets it wrong on occasion but I'd rather have Owen on a free then Tevez at 25 million

Aww, never mind Canto. You've just lost Tevez and replaced with a crock.

Nevermind, at least you have Ronaldo..... wait a sec.

And you've spent 50 million on a headless chicken and a striker who has had one good season...congrats :D

Oh yeah, because you know more about Tevez than somebody who managed him for two years.

Give it a rest Canto, I think Fergie knows alot more about Tevez than you, thats why he wanted to keep him.

Because he thought he could get Benzema.

You're saying that Tevez is crap but Fergie wanted to keep him. So one of you is wrong.

He's seen Tevez play and train for two years. He wouldn't try and sign him if he didn't think he was value for money.

I didn't say he was crap i said he isnt a great striker as he doesn't score enough!Mate not a chance he is value for money at 25 million seriously take off the blue tinted specs for a second..he is Ji Sung Park with just a little bit more end product would you pay 20 million for Park?

He is a decent signing for you lot but hand on heart I'm glad to see the back of him and i would rather Owen then Tevez as Owen does what a striker should do Tevez doesn't but thats just my opinion

actually as far as I can see the only bid that was made by united for tevez was immediately after they sold ronaldo, but by that time it was too late.

otherwise they obv. didn't think he was worth 25m and he wasn't when you consider they'd already paid 10m to have him for those two years that's right. city are paying 25m for him, united would have paid 35m and I think you'd struggle to justify 25m for a guy who scored five league goals last season, let alone 35m.

of course he's a good player and his knack for having an impact off the bench is very useful but was never really worth 25m to united, it's only because real spunked 80m in their hands straight up that they even went for him.

that doesn't mean he's not great. he is. but united didn't want him that badly so stop trying to kid yourself you've stolen a player off them. he's clearly got a bit of mercenary in him as well (although I'd wager most of that is influenced by kia).
