You can say he flourishes when a true #9 plays ahead of him.

He flourishes no matter who he has ahead of him. He got 30 goals out of Adebayor in one season. He had the best assist stats in Europe when at Arsenal for 5 years running. Better stats than Xavi/Iniesta who've had great players ahead of them.

Was that in Rijkaard's last year? Not the best to start a comparison. He is still inconsistent and fails in important games, I wouldn't sell him right now if it's not a fat ass sum of money (like 55) but I don't like him very much, maybe in games like Mallorca but when it mattered he was out.
I would just keep him cause he is Barca DNA and he's still young, maybe he can start having better performances when it's really important.

The only time he's made a good game in my eyes against a big team in an important moment was in the second leg against Chelsea in the semifinals. He made some brilliant passes that game and could have had 2-3 assists if Messi was more lucky. Also got a penalty thanks to him.

Funny... most people here would crucify him for the exact same game.

I remember many good games he played for example against Madrid where he scored a header to end the game 1-3 for us. And i love Cesc hes one of ours how come you are all hating him so much. He has been our second best player when looking at stats.

Problem I have with Cesc is that he's taken away minutes from Thiago's development when played in mid and when played as False 10/9 he takes away Villa's spot who is an actual striker. The preferential treatment he gets is what irks me, because he can have an assist in a game but also make a dozen giveaways or turnovers and still not get punished the same way Thiago or Villa would for the same mistakes.

Tito/Pep have forced him to be in the same team as Xavi, Iniesta, Busi, Messi all similar players. He's a fantastic player no doubt and has scored some key goals and made key passes but the obsession to fit him in the team is what is driving me up the wall.

He gets that treatment because of his name brand and the fact that his price tag was 40 million.

Now that Thiago is gone the real Fabregas will be unleashed. :coffee: He'll be liberated and show us why he is the true heir to Xavi. The lost son. The one with the REAL Barca DNA. All hail! :worthy:
