Really? he did absolutly nothing. Nothing in defence, nothing in attack. He wasent even a part of any of the goals.
Luckily Inista is so fantastic he was basicly 2 midfielders in 1.
Even Busquetes was better offensivly then Cesc

He didn't boss that midfield but he has never done that for us? Had a few great interceptions and made something out of nothing on a couple of occasions with some great passes, but we couldn't make much of it. Don't see how he had a bad game.

He also moved around, walked, etc. Should praise him for that too.
Seriously, I don't see what you guys consider a bad game if this was Cesc's good game.

On what terms did he have a good game exactly? Mediocre game yes, but good game? He was almost invisible except for that pass to Villa which almost led to his second goal. He needs more consistency if he's going to be Xavi's successor.

Poor match from Cesc. I don't understand what's happening to him. Last season was the same; great first half of the season, poor in the 2nd.

He's technically inferior to the rest of our midfielders and suffers from the kind of pressure Rayo gave tonight...I figured he'd at least bust that high line of Rayo's a few times but even that didn't happen

I think somebody needs to make a compilation of his performance, I counted him execute at least 3 fantastic through balls, press pretty well and disposessed Rayo defenders on occasions. By Cesc standards (compared to say the first leg vs Milan) he was good. But hey, maybe I' was watching another game, same way as it seems I was watching a different Pedro to everybody else for the past 18 months.

He'll never be Xavi's successor, completely different type of player, does not have the patience awareness and technique to do that

I actually defended Cesc on numerous occasions here but you can't deny that Cesc is in a slump for months now.

Started out slow but stepped it up later in the game. Much better.

I think he just needs to gain some more momentum and keep that feeling up. Near the end he was showing that he can control the game quite a bit when he's on point. He wasn't even fully on point either.

Even though he wasn't at the top of his game he still created some nice chances, made some nice runs and picked out some good assist chances. Could have easily had 1-2 assists if Messi'd had finished them. Room for improvement but not too bad, still a lot of good spots.

I'm with you, I don't think he was as bad as many people think he was. He created a FEW chances this game, which is his primary job (along with maintaining possession).
