Thought had a pretty good game. Could have had 4-5 assists:
- Pass to Messi in the 5th minute
- Nice through ball to Villa around 20th minute
- Nice header to Messi
- Beautiful one touch pass to Messi that was brilliantly defended
- Pass to Alexis that should have been the easiest chance of the game
I am sure I missed a few ones

- Nice header to Messi
- Beautiful one touch pass to Messi that was brilliantly defended

In between there was a one touch lob from Cesc to Messi that could/should have been another goal. So that a possible 6 assists...

Nice vid except it didn't show half the chances Cesc created :icon_confused:

He still has that amazing vision + final pass and his keeping possession is improving. He can only get better.

In this vid you see why cesc loses more possession than other players. He always try to put people in sometimes it works out sometimes it does not. He realy tries to recycle like xavi or inesta

Had a good match. The usual happened: when Cesc was subbed Spain conceded...

I still think Cesc has that loser Arsenal mentality, his form seems to crumble in the 2nd half of the season when there is a bit more pressure, he's probably not used to matches meaning alot around this time of the season, because at Arsenal they were already out of every competition and his body probably isnt used to playing 40-50 meaningful games.

I think with Villa now playing in top form and getting a lot more minutes, I think we will see Cesc start to shine more and more. Having 2 dedicated attacking strikers like Villa and Alexis both making runs up top is exactly what Cesc needs that he's been missing. His ability to pick out players for through balls and to make runs/attacking plays himself will be on display more in this situation... it's also arguably two of the points where Cesc is currently stronger than Xavi.

I think Cesc can play with either Xavi or Iniesta just fine if he is on his game. The only question is how much of his A-game does bring. With Xavi on, Cesc can play more of an attacking role, perhaps making more runs. Playing with Iniesta, both are generally more attack-minded than Xavi, so there I guess Cesc would play more from deeper, but still interchanging in attack with Iniesta all the same.

I think what he still crucially lacks with Barca that he had with Arsenal is that complete self-assurance. At Arsenal he knew he was the man, and so he held a pretty high level of form for quite a long time. He's still that great player now, but it seems to me that he still doesn't have that complete mastery and self-possession that Iniesta, Xavi and Messi possess. I think that'll come more in time. Cesc is already showing signs of his greatness now, but once he's fully self-confident in the Barcelona style he'll really start to blossom. In the next season or 2 I predict.

Cesc plays best when next to Xavi. If there's only Iniesta and Cesc, there's no one to control the game. Having Villa in front would accentuate Cesc's strong sides (if he is on form, which he is not at the moment), but we will not see that many instances where Villa and Cesc play at the same time. Only when he's rotated with Xavi or Iniesta.

We miss you Cesc! I pray one day to see you back in England for the Mighty Gunners.

Even at 34/35. One day I really hope so!....

Happy you're living your dream though.

Oh please he never crumbled in the secound half of the season ever for arsenal if you watched the pl you know this i'm guessing you are a manu or chelsea fan. Since his time at barca he has been doing this

Rotating Cesc with Villa doesn't work IMO. He can occasionally play as a false forward with the link up with Messi and Iniesta but it doesn't play to his strengths. He's at his best delivering those through balls in the final third and for that he needs Messi and Villa providing constant movement up top.

Stop hating cesc is doing wonderful.... he is young and will get even better as long as he is a player jn our team we should support him and not talking about that he should leave or that others doing better than him.... i dont get u guys... you dont seem to me like real barca fans.. to me i support every single barca player there is even if he plays no good he is still one of ours... otherwise i could cheer for madrid or ronaldo that would make the same sense
