Add a 2 month slump to that equation and his improvement beyond evident. And that's stats alone. His overall game (excluding the mentioned dip in form) is much better than last season.

EDIT:

Where do these stats come from? And which competition to they apply to?

2011/2012
La Liga: 9 goals, 10 assists: Cup: 3 goals, 6 assists; UEFA: 3 goals, 4 assists
total: 15 goals, 20 assists

2012/2013
La Liga: 9 goals, 11 assists, Cup: 2 goals, 1 assists; UEFA: 1 goals, 0 assists
total: 12 goals, 12 assists

League only.

Thanks! I figured that out in the meantime, I was still confused about some numbers. Anyway, good stats so far this season. :barca scarf:

My numbers could be wrong. Somewhere it says 17... I never know which sources to trust with these things.

Especially in the first half. People who say he doesn't fit into the team tend to forget that we played and won every league game until the Clásico with him in the starting line-up.

It shows that although Messi is the best in the world and already one of the top 5 greatest players of all time, he does take away creative freedom and goalscoring chances away from the likes of Cesc and Alexis because they have to work a lot harder and play in areas of the pitch that they're not as effective in.

Not necessarily a criticism, just an observation.

I'm sure Barcelona could still compete at the top without Messi around.

Keep in mind how bad Mallcora were. I didn't see us creating much away to PSG without Messi...

His "celebration" of that first goal reminded me a lot of the celebration of his goal against Ireland at the EC last summer. He looked more annoyed than happy.

Thanks for reminding me :( ha .... Anywho is there any place for cesc on the wing? Perhaps that could work although I really like Tello out there.

Barça didn't exactly create a lot vs. PSG with Messi. Although I think you're correct I also don't think Barça need to create that much vs. PSG on Weds.

Thanks for reminding me :( ha ....

I forgive Cesc for that goal vs Ireland  it would still have been 3-0 without it anyway.

10/10.

The first goal was special. A 27 pass move starting from Pinto and involving all players (with the possible exception of Montoya), Cesc involved several times in the build up and a great one two from Cesc and Alexis to set up the finish.

Cesc told journalists after the game against Mallorca on Saturday that his daughter is expected to be born in the coming 4-5 days. [md]

I really don't think it is that drastic, it will surely be an important game and there will be consequences depending on his performance, but Cesc is here for the long run, so I doubt this very game can change his immediate future within the team...

Where is the relegating Mallorca legandary false 9 in big match where he plays in his fan boys suggested false 9 position? Do you understand who is Messi now ?

The team is bad, but it's easy to blame the player you hate the most, right? He is bad so far, but not having a defense is the primary reason.

We will see what will happen when Messi enters. Just mark my words Flavia.
