He wasn't superb but he wasn't that bad either. We became better when Messi came on for him, but this means nothing. Everyone is bad compared to Messi, and Cesc actually tried to shoot.

All points aside we expect much better from a player who cost us so much money than just be a squad player. He should be a big match player. Its been 2 seasons still he hasnt lived upto his potential. He needs to train hard and improve his first touch and his ball retention but dunno how much of that he can do if he doesnt have the skill. He cant have a long term career at Barca if he doesnt improve

Yeah it should be easy for Cesc to be a starter. No competition

And he is playing out of position. And it hasn't been 2 seasons yet....and Cesc still needs to properly re-adapt. But I'm just stating the obvious...

We need to stop trying to shoehorn Cesc in false 9 position as he is not an efficient striker of ball. Everything else he can manage but without proper attempts on goal we cannot expect to win .Yes I know false 9 makes assists for others too but there is a reason why Messi gets so many shots compared to others because false 9 is the primary targetman .

Instead we should try to play in a way so that Villa/Pedro get most shots on goal .There are no fixed attack formations these days so we can create something to make Villa the primary target man .

Erm, if I could say something in defence of Pedro (and Pique & Fabregas), they've all become or likely to become fathers for the first in these past few months. So if it looks like they've been playing with their head in the clouds at times, that might be the reason why. Hopefully, for the rest of the season and next season they might return the sort of form which they have displayed previously.

Congrats to him and his gf. The head in the cloud statement still applies.
