Yet he's the problem according to the forum experts.

The RL9 witch-hunt here is the most clueless thing ever.

He's doing well to score goals, but you and I both know there's much more to football than stats, as I have said many times and seemingly have to keep repeating myself on.

You can definitely argue a younger more dynamic striker would bring more out of the other players. Football isn't just goal stats.

Still he's doing well to score.

His all round game has been great this season.

His all round performances against Bayern and Real were especially fantastic.

He's doing it all except pressing which you can't expect from a 36 year old superstar.

People here have short memories and clear bias. Everyone outside this forum is delighted with his performances this season.

Yeah I agree those were both very good performances and me myself am not blaming him.

I just think his lack of legs could prove costly when the difficulty ramps up in latter rounds. No elite team should really be starting with a 36 year old striker, let's be honest.

A good press can work with 9 players. It's not unusual to leave your star player up top with lesser pressing duties.

Under Klopp, Salah used to stay forward even though he's a hardworking player. Klopp deliberately gave him instructions to stay high.

And Klopp is the master of gegenpressing.

Also RL9 staying high gives the GK and the CBs a direct targetman option for long balls, which is a feature of Flickball. RL9 hardly pressed like a beast for Flick's Bayern. It was very similar to what it is now.

Fair points.

Let's hope Barca and Lewa continue to do well, starting with tonight.
