Yet he's the problem according to the forum experts.

The RL9 witch-hunt here is the most clueless thing ever.

Hate to break it to you but in a system as obsessed with scoring goals as Flick's one, most strikers with good finishing would easily top goalscoring statistics in all competitions they play.

He has the most goals, but he probably also has the most chances served on plate for him. Lewa is living in a dream position for every striker - a team obsessed with offensive with an infinite source of creativity in likes of Lamine, Olmo, Casado, Pedri and lately Raphinha as well.

Not downplaying his achievements here at all. His goals are still a good thing and his experience in the final third is crucial to us this season. But in games where we don't dominate and don't create as many chances, he doesn't do a thing on his own.

There is still a lot more he has to give other than the goals if he wants to stay for another season. He is not the problem. If rest of the team is working well he won't be the one to hold us back. But there are younger players that would be an upgrade over him and we need to seek for them in the summer.

Easily outperforming his xG this season.

Disagree in his current form, the players that are talked about either have injury problems or are statpadding in some farmers league with tap ins.

Lewy xG in CL: 5.70 and scored 7 goals
Lewy xG in LL: 15.63 and scored 16 goals

Last season he overperformed his xG in LL more.

I don't know, I don't value that stat so much. I know that only Ez Abde (12) and Mbappe (13), one terrible finisher and one in terrible finishing form, have more big chances missed than him in La Liga - and he has as much as Sorloth (10), player widely criticized by Atletico fans because of it.

But Lewa is not as wasteful as those guys. He scores more chances than he wastes. But under Flick he can be more relaxed. Barca on its best day creates at least 10 solid chances, most of them directed at Lewy or Raphinha. If Lewa misses one, he knows another will probably come very soon.

This is why Raphinha is having so insane G/A stats already so early into the season. He's having a fantastic season but no way he would be anywhere near 30 G/A or something in any other system. It simply maximizes their output and, in those dominating games, they can farm G/A when attack is working like a machine. Same goes for Lewa as well. Those stats are still crazy but not as unbelievable as it would be without any context considered.

Most players are dependent on the system though, you can see that with the other strikers struggling. No shit that Barca players wouldn't shoot goals with some dude that just tells them to pass the ball around as coach.

@fergus90

Just continuing what I said in the Palmer thread mate, keeping threads on topic.

Strong chance of beating Celtic at end of January. How about winning in Monaco, that could happen too. You might finish with 19/24 points. That would likely get you top four at worst.

Yes, that last image was what I was loooking for.
Thanks mate
No problem mate.

and on the other post thanks, yeah I am torn on the barca and athletic games. They're the hardest to call. Might change but will kick myself if my original prediction ends up correct. It's happened before.
