u cant play with a cam while u have messi..
Then CM with offensive skills, or however you want to put it. You can play Eriksen and Messi at the same time, just like Iniesta and Messi played at the same time.
Eriksen is not only a AM, he has played CM multiple times for both Tottenham and Denmark, and was one of the players who covered most ground in the worlds most physical league last season.

Our club will never play this.

Stop with the south American fantasies, our club will forever play a formation that is suited to Tiki Taka

I wish we would move for him. Add much needed creativity, would fit like a glove and is only like 15 mil now.
Yet we are not even rumoured, sigh...

For around 20m he would be a great signing this january. He still has about 3 or 4 years at the highest level. Would be an ideal signing since we've already loaned out Alena and Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal are almost done.

How can we not be interested is beyond me.

We could sign him for €20m and €10m a year wages, if he was horrendous for us, we could put him on the bench/reserves and he'd still be worth €40m. If he just played ok for us he'd be worth €40m-€60m, if he played very well for us but we didn't want to keep him he'd be worth €60m-€80m. For a club who lacks a goalscoring midfielder we sure are dumb as fuck not being linked with this guy.

I dont think anyone would pay us 40ME if he fails for us. He would be on too high wages for that to happen. Its not as riskfree as you make it out. But to be fair I would like him here.

According to sources, he is available for just 20M this January. He's already made it clear to Spurs that he won't be extending his contract, so staying with them is out of the question, and Eriksen himself actually said he wants out NOW, not wait until the summer, probably out of respect for Tottenham too, so they could at least get some money for him, but also because of himself too, since ever since he said he won't be renewing, he's only been used from the bench first by Poch, now continued by Mourinho. And don't give me that, 'he's the same as Coutinho, he's another CAM', because he's not. Eriksen was always the better and more logical choice for us out of the two, cause Coutinho played CAM and LW for Liverpool, which is what he plays, while Eriksen plays CAM yes, but he actually plays CM as his second position, and he does it just as well, he just played CM in a 3-man midfield yesterday, when he finally started a game for them after a while, and he's also a much harder worker, able to defend just as well, and that's why he can actually play CM too, while Coutinho is your typical 'Ozil-like' 10, who needs someone else to pick up his slack, while Eriksen picks up others's slack in addition to being a world class player himself, because that's just the kind of player he is, not to forget he also learned football the right way too, being an Ajax graduate.

As for his suitors, United want him, but his top two destinations, like it was already reported last year, are still Madrid and Barca, with Juve being the 3rd option. Madrid already baiting Spurs with offering Bale in a swap deal, Inter already in contact with his representatives, (but of course only for the summer, since they're cheap mofos, who won't even pay the cut price 20M now and will rather risk losing him if he leaves now, so I actually don't count Inter as serious contenders at all). Meanwhile we're what...sitting on our asses? How hard is it to sell Vidal to Inter for 20M and buy Eriksen for the same price and getting at least twice the player.

Eriksen coming now could also massively help push us for the CL this season already, and we'd also have that extra insurance for the summer already lined up, so we could finally tell Rakitic to get lost too and ship him back to Sevilla while welcoming back Alena and possibly even promote Puig to have them alongside Arthur, De Jong and Busquets. Would literally be the perfect 6 months for me, but I know our Board is much too stupid to even think about, much less pull off something like this, and that's why we haven't heard a peep about us being in contact with Eriksen, cause we'd rather pay twice the price for a twice lesser player like Olmo, because he's La Masia. While in reality he's probably another Denis in the making. And I'm all for going for younger players, and if Eriksen cost 80M or was 29 or 30 years old, either of those things, my vote would go to Olmo, but when the difference in quality and even price in this case is as big as it is here, I'd choose Eriksen every time. And it's not like he's 30, he's still 27, so he's the same age as Suarez, when we bought him, so he can give us at least 5 great years alongside Arthur and De Jong, we'd instantly have a top three starting midfield in Europe again with these 3 together.

The whole Eriksen transfer saga is weird as fuck. No top team seems to be really interested, all are passive as hell.

Strongly disagree noone would pay that much in this market. Look at Malcom, Mina, cillessen. All nowhere near the level of Eriksen with lower reputation than him and we got €30m+ for each of them.

You forget the wages he would be on. Only a few teams would be able to pay them and its not a given they would move for him if he fails for us.

Heck, even now most teams arent really going for him. Its all just mild interest.

I guess Eriksen isn't 'galactico' enough for Barto

this transfer is a no brainer if the price is anything below 40mil

I see your point but even still the absolute worst case scenario is we have to pay him off to leave or lower the price so that clubs can afford transfer fee and wages. What's the cost if he fails miserably overall? €5m? €10m? And that's if he's a total failure. We've spent far more for far worse.

He'll still get massive wages and signing bonus because he's close to being a free agent, probably won't work out that cheap.
