Surprised Pique and Mascherano aren't in there. They were walzing through their midfield like hot knife through butter at times.

They actually hailed Messi on Bluemoon today/yesterday saying he is far more complete than Ronaldo and can have a brilliant game without scoring but they probably say that only because CR played for there rivals

That's a rare treat!

Often in media though I mean is where you'll hear pundits etc not rate Messi and instead think Ronaldo is better in all aspects. It seems rare to hear or read good praise for Messi. I'd say in the UK the vast majority prefer & favour Ronaldo and Bale.

Got to say that was freakin' awesome when they just strolled into City's half with ease and unchallenged as if to say "they seem me strollin', Manc's be hatin"

Crazy talk lots and lots of pundits in the UK say Messi is one of the best of all time. And I only know a few people in real life who claim Ronaldo to be better.

2-1 is a great road result, but game felt like a loss at the end of the day with that dreadful 2nd half performance and that horrible PK. The tie is over at 3-1

It was a nice game. Though I'm not sure what City were doing in the first half, they were way too timid. They fared much better in the second half.

However, Barcelona win 2-1 at the Etihad.
Arsenal won 2-0 at the Etihad.

See what I did there? :party1:

Not really since every sports column is ripping a part and have been since last season saying he's in decline. Out of the pundits on ITV during the WC coverage half of them preferred Ronaldo over Messi. No doubt he's one of the best in the World & all time but what I'm saying is out of observation reading sports news, listening to BBC, ITV, Sky, talkshite and various sports forums. A lot of UK fans I've spoken to are sick of Messi and I think it's brought on by the fact he hasn't played in the PL which in their dumb ass mind is "not proving himself", the same old argument.

I do, call me bias but Messi in my eyes it's a true sportsmen both on & off the pitch where as Ronaldo is a brat.

On to the game at the Camp Nou, if it's like last year that is when Man City came out more as they were in a "nothing to lose" mentality. With that goal they got that will also push them into going for it. It could be more dangerous this time so not getting hopes up & over confident that we've won this tie. That's the wrong place to be and pray our lads don't have that state of mind either. Let's go at them again and score 2 or 3.

*Just in: Blame the players not my tactics says Manuel Pellegrini

lmao

Also the ridiculous Suárez having a nibble story

Nice result and good first half.

But city had like 10 corners and dzeko should have scored. And pelligrini messed up the line up.

Next match yaya will be back and city will probably deliver a better first half.

We must be prepared.

Press is saying Messi was "mesmerizing." Really? He looked OK to me at best.

...I mean, he was good. But by his own big game standards I'd rate that at a mediocre performance. A solid dozen sloppy turnovers in our own half came from Messi, one of which lead to City's goal.

Dani was pretty useless. I'm not sure he should start in big games any more. I think right now I prefer Adriano over him.

Neymar had an off night.

Pique was sensational. Best form of his career right now.

Like all of you, I feel the pain of the missed penalty. I think it will come back to haunt us.

Not against City directly, we'll still win the tie. But we have a Clasico 4 days after our next city match. If we won this match 3-1 we could rest or early-sub key players in the City game, for the Clasico.

Nah, a 2-1 win on away ground is golden. Even gives you the comfort of a 1-0 loss at home. Too bad we didn't make 3-1, cause 4 days after we play City we will have a crucial game against Madrid and I'd like to start that game in our best physical shape.

I read a fact before the City Newcastle game that City hadn't scored from a corner in nearly 300 corners. There lack of corner skills was evident in the game.
