CL Round 2: Bayern Munchen - FC Barcelona 2-0

Because the hardest thing to replace in football is goals. Mane is 30 and declining. Muller is 33 and the heart and soul of the team for years. Bayern are also mostly in their prime right now. Most the players are in the mid to late 20's. Their window is right now but they don't have a good enough striker and it will cost them. That team today at Bayern is primed and ready except at forward. Let's see who they get to replace but it isn't easy. 2 or 3 years from now Bayern will be in a rebuild, unless like I said earlier they get lucky and sign a superstar.

A lot of teams are lacking a great CF these days, Bayern is not alone. Players will turn up, they always do. I just hope that Tel kid they bought won't turn up good for them.

Losing Lewandowski might take away some goals here and there but their system, that machine is still there and they have been reinforced and will continued to spend money to do, it seems under Kahn they are finally not shying away from spending big. So the talks of them declining is bogus.

That said, I think in the long run their dominance in Germany and overall status in Europe will be challenged, like we will be by the huge money in European football.

Whether you like it or not Bayern was toothless and individual mistakes is why Barca lost. Corner whatever sometimes those go in its just the way it is. But the Aane goal should have been a foul way before. Other than that Bayern had maybe 2 good shots on goal and that's it. Will cost Bayern down the road. They are already not as good as last season and so on.

Come on man, dont go down this road of excuses; bayern were a better team as soon as Goretzka came in to the team; we lost to Vilareal last year with Lewa

Prior to the recent three consecutive draws in the league, there were talks of Bayern being much better than last season, Nagelsmann finally gelling etc. and everything is clicking for Bayern etc.

prior to the recent 3 draws there were 3 weeks of football played. Those “talks“ are very rosetinted, Bayern is certainly not in great form at the moment. I dont say this not to belittle someone, I say this because its true. This thread has been saying prior to the match that Bayern is in a particularly vulnerable stance right now, but when I say it then its belittleing?

Even after this loss, I am still positive we haven't seen the best Barca yet.(obv) We have many new players and they have only played handful of games together. We will look better and we will play better. Chemistry is just building now.

Xavi doesn't even know his best combinations yet

Yes to the first paragraph but I still think Xavi is a liability and our undoing. Hope to be proven wrong.

would just like to add here that I honestly believe something is brewing on Harry Kane front, also I think Mane is african 30, cant belive he would lose so much speed at this age, he should be in form of his life

You took pre-game pep talk and trash talking from opposing fans too seriously. Not many people here watch Bayern. I myself only watched Bayern once this season, before today.

Don't mind Bayern getting him, as long as they force bayern to fork up a lot of money.

Attack let us down. Lewa before anyone. Raphinha was atrocious, but on better days he could score two, lewa 3 pedri 2. But we are competitive, and that was only thing i wanted to see. Next two games against inter we need 4 points to be sure

I didn't say you were trash-talking, I was referring to some of those talks of dismissing Bayern and how "vulnerable" it could be etc. before the game.

Well, that kind of reaction to that post of yours was expected, wasn't it? It came off quite condescending, whether you meant it or not. Being a Barca fan forum, of course people didn't like seeing that.

This forum is quite tolerant actually, if it was places like BayernZone some fans of other teams would have already been perma-banned.
