If neuer didnt throw the ball so fast after neymars fall, ney would have probably gotten the second yellow. We were lucky there.

i thought it was a ridiculous situation where the ref is torn between booking the player for diving (second yellow --> red) and awarding a penaldo.

Yes, they've done brilliantly in that regard.

Yes they have. The 3 main achievements for LE and his staff this season has been the fitness of the squad, the set-play complete 180, both in defense and offense, and the simplification of the offense to allow the front 3 to be the focus and protagonists. The last one was probably the hardest adjustment he had to make and it took him a while to make it.

Was that a penalty on Neymar? Somehow it got buried quickly as Messi scored.

For me it was more a penalty than a dive for sure. Neymar was held and spun. Did he embellish, sure he did, but that's not a dive in any case, at least IMO.

IMO, it was. Rafinha had absolutely no intention of playing the ball. None. It's true that the contact was not so violent, but the fact of the matter is that there is a clear contact that was meant to stop Neymar. With the rule-book in your hand, that is a penalty. Neymar's problem is that he tries too much to emphasize every foul he suffers.

It was a foul, inside the box, so it's a penalty. He didn't dive there.

he was touched, but at the same time he thrown himself to the ground.

There is no rule that says a striker is obligated to continue playing after he is fouled. The foul per se has nothing to do with the ability to continue the action. The foul is there, so the dive is out of the question.

I just said what happened. Not every contact whit hands in the box is a foul, the ref can decide whether the contact is enough for a pk or not.

Yea, I agree. Except he decided that a grab from behind is a foul when he gave Alves a yellow for the same kind of intervention on Lewandowski.

One major point about this match that isn't getting as much attention is our clean sheet. I think it's the clean sheet even more than the three goals that makes this lead insurmountable. If we score even one at AA they need 5. That's gonna need a hell of a miracle. Fantastic defending from our players. The only solid chance I recall was the muller-lewa chance. The fact that their window for an away goal has ended and any goal we score from here on is twice as valuable gives us the psychological edge. Anything can happen in football of course but It's just too high a mountain to climb.
