No other player has had more impact on their nation than Ronaldo did for Portugal

In 2003 Ronaldo made his debut for Portugal, serial underachievers who had qualified for 3 World Cups in 80 years

Ronaldo won Portugal their first ever 2 trophies, has almost every international record possible, and most importantly, changed his nations history from underdogs to a a bonified super nation

He's in the debate for best international player ever whether you like it or not
You're such a troll lol. You don't believe any of that, laughing your head off while you write it.

He scores most of his goals against garbage teams in qualifying. This is his record in international tournaments, and you can add 2022 and 2024 to that. 3 goals in 21 knockout games lol.

And as I keep saying - Portugal qualify for more tournaments now because of the EXPANSION of the tournaments and more teams qualifying than ever. More instructive is that in his prime Portugal were beaten to automatic qualification by teams like Bosnia.

'Ronaldo won Portugal their first ever 2 trophies, '

He was mediocre in 2016 and not even in their top three players, and not even close to POTT (as he never is). The Nations League is pretty much a fake trophy.

And even if all this wasn't true, and he'd been sensational - you CANNOT be the greatest ever international player without winning the World Cup.

I would ignore him. His lack of ball knowledge is not even worth paying attention to.

This Euro was a horror show for Ronaldo, but then again he had at best one or two decent tournaments in his career. Goat my ass (not like anyone seriously brings him up anymore).

Trolling and lack of ball knowledge. He put Argentina on the level of Denmark before the WC22 started.
That is surely trolling though lol. No one with a fully functional brain would say that (though Denmark were a good team back then). It's a ridiculous opinion that HAS to be insincere and trolling lol.

LOL!
...debate is only in the heads of few real madrid fans(spite), a number of Man U fans(understandable), some proponents of English football supremacy(traditionalists and comsevatists), a proportion of Portuguese football followers(patriotism) and some others whose number 1 sport still remains cricket and only watch football out of boredom.

There was never a debate.

Bold is a good point. People who love PL style fast counter-attack, no subtlety, love Ronaldo, as he embodies that style as an individual player (the way it was before Pep went to Man City).

These are the same type of people who said Barca and Spain were boring, that they passed too much. These people wanna see shots smacked from distance and constant running, don't care for true genius. Ergo the Ronaldo love. It's an ideological difference.

The only impressive thing about his international career is the longevity.

- Zero POTT in like 15 international tournaments played.
- Laughable numbers in knockout games.
- Not a single world class tournament, heck, other than Euro 2012 which was good I dont remember a single one in which he was 7/10 or something.

Take Euro16 and he doesnt have a better international legacy than Lewa or Lukaku, his performances are on that bracket at least.

The Portugal excuse doesnt even hold anymore as they have been a top3-5 team talent wise since 2018 and he's been among the worst performers for them in almost every tournament.
