It's a lame excuse anyway as Juventus had won like 7 league titles in a row before him anyway. Serie A was regarded as a joke just as much as Ligue 1.

I think that standing ovation from the Juve fans, him thinking of himself as some kind of God who could do nothing wrong and not feeling "loved" by Real Madrid giving in to all of his demands made him move.

CR7 is usually pretty smart about career planning. He knew when to ditch United for RM...which is why it's surprising that he didn't ditch RM for PSG. Where he would have had much better chances to win the CL.

PSG already had Neymar and Mbappe then whereas he could be the clear star at Juve.

It's interesting when you compare the quality of teammates over Messi and CR7's careers:

1) Messi's best teammates were a higher quality overall IMO compared to CR7's best teammates. Xavi, Iniesta, Alves better than Ramos, Modric, Marcelo IMO. Which could be a reason (not the full reason) why his peak years are so damn stellar.

2) CR7, on the other, didn't play in a bad team (at the top/CL level) from 2006-2018. Was surrounded by United's best team ever (or second best ever) and then Modric, Ramos, Marcelo, Benz, Bale, Kroos, Pepe, Varane etc. at RM. Messi has had suspect CL teams in 06-07, 12/13, 13/14 and basically from the EV era onwards.

3) When they've had average/bad teams, Messi has done better than CR7 in the CL. Compare the last 3 years. Messi took care of Napoli, United, Lyon easily and put in a good effort v Pool and PSG. Got destroyed by Bayern but I think Juve would have been destroyed by them too. CR7 did great v AM but other than that, has been meh. Maybe Ajax was decent. Porto and Lyon huge stinkers.

Lmao, y'all are funny.

Out of curiosity, where do you have Messi and him ranked all time, Rassvet and Fati_Future_BallonDor ?

He might actually break the Serie A record this season. He needs 14 to tie it with 12 matches after this

This game is on his level. Cagliari so stupid by pushing so many people up and let Juve counter against the turtle Godin and co. Bit strange that the rapist is allowed to stamp the GK in the face and only get a yellow.

Saw someone mention R9.

For all of his incredible talent and skills, R9 really got off easy when it comes to the CL.
If he played today and never won a CL media would destroy him, even with his legendary career with the national team and all.

I know, its not exactly his fault, just saying.
