Didnt you say nobody will remember Neymar's participation in cl final as he didnt win ? At the end of the day titles are the important things. WC final 2014 was good, nobody expected argentinia to come into the final so that was a success even though they lost. But not winning the copa in 2015, 2016 or 2019 is a fail for Messi and argentinia. From the individual perspective both have a great international career, both are all time goal scorer for the nt i think and both had broken lots of records.
First time since a long time that you dont post a troll comment but an objective comment about CR, keep it up !

Making the WC final is a lot more memorable than making the CL final. People remember WC finalists for the most part.

The objectivity in my post is that Messi had a better international career than CR7. It would be a different story if CR7 played the final Euro 2016 and they won because of him. Then, kudos. Otherwise his record is trash (worse than Messi's who barely above average himself compared to his club level).

Partly agree, a wc final is more memorable as this competition is only every 4 years but you wont find many people who will see a wc final participation as a success. I would put both on the same level in terms of international career but its a matter of opinion ! Why cant you always write like this ?? We would avoid lots of unnecassary discussions. Keep it up dude !!

A trophy is more important than countless finals. Tell the Netherlands to renounce their 3 WC finals for a single win and they'll take that in a heart beat.

In fact, what would you prefer? Messi having a Copa or the actual record of losing finals in CA and WC?

If you read my post more carefully, you'd see CR7 not playing in the final that his team won WITHOUT him is a major reason I don't give him as much credit (ofc he still gets credit for the rest of the KO rounds). Now if he had played in the final and they won, I would give him more credit. And even more so if he played well and was the reason they won.

It's not simply a case of comparing trophy counts.

Thats his usual stuff, turning things to fit his narrative

What are you saying? CR played in the final. And got injured. So now he's not a true winner because he only played for 20 minutes? Absurd. I dislike Ronaldo (not because he's Messi's rival but because he played for United) but taking his 2016 contributions and reducing them below the achievements of his teammates is the ultimate Barca cultist attitude.

Btw, Messi won the CL in 2006. While he got injured before reaching the final, he still won it - because he was on the field during several games that led to that historic result.

You're seeing things which I haven't said.

Never said he was not a true winner. Find me those words or even the implication.

What I am saying is that his 15 or 20 mins out of 120 mins means he was a non-factor in the final. Or do you want to somehow spin that too? His team won without him, which means that he gets credit for his KO run but not for the final.

I don't see what's so hard to grasp about the concept of players getting credit for games that they've played in. No one's saying he's not won the 2016 Euro...but rather that winning a final he didn't play a role in is not more impressive than losing a WC final to Germany, for example.

You're basically searching for a way to label me a Messi cultist from the sounds of it  Nice try.

From my own experience I can tell you that you shouldn't waste your time 'discussing' with him. He will now give you some meaningless 'arguments' and call you a troll / clown. Then he will mention the mods and ask them to ban you
