Radio Marca claim that Tello is close to joining Liverpool on loan until the end of the season with a 15 million clause to make it permanent...Dubious source, of course, but we know the player has been linked to the Reds in the past and with Messi returning, there are few minutes available in the rotation and Cristian has clearly been the odd man out already

"Some playing time"? It's the usual Barca method of getting rid of young players. Giving them false hope that they could still have a Barca future by loaning them out instead of selling but in reality everyone knows they won't return. Bojan loan saga part 2. Could have gotten € 10 or € 15 million a few years ago, now he's maybe worth € 3M. Same will happen with Tello.

I think that we need depth until the end of the season. We should keep him imo.

Also, he can be a great second half super sub. His pace against a tiring defense will be very useful.

Letting him go with the uncertainty of both Cuenca's and Afellay's would be dumb. Unless Tata has other options to get a striker next month.

Those players weren't loaned out when they were 22 and already part of the first team. Loaning out U20 youth players is a different matter (Pique wasn't loaned btw).
If we are loaning him out, we are loaning him out because he can't get playing time. If he can't get playing time now, he won't get playing time in 2 or 3 years with Neymar getting even better and Adama, Deulofeu etc. knocking on the door.
That scenario will remain theory for ever. Let's say we need a goal. Do you really think Neymar is going to come off for Tello? Let's say we don't need a goal. Will Tello be satisfied with garbage minutes here and there?
Just cash in and be done with it.
it could be that tello become better and better with playing time.. evt better than pedro or even alexis! and yes deulo is a very big prospect but you don't know will he make it to worldclass...
