It's because they still have some faith in Tello but obviously don't have any room for him in the squad. Porto are paying his full wages and we get €2M too, good deal imo.

There is a block option too, it will be useful if he becomes some superstar in next 2 years. I think he is a decent player maybe not barca quality but still a good player. It's a smart move. He could have a great season and score 20 goals and suddenly clubs will pay 20-25 million for him. Then we get him back and make a decent profit on him.
