if the likes of baggio and zidane make the top 20 then so does Ronaldo, he may not have been anywhere near as naturally talented but his level of consistency is truly legendary and of the second list only dinho is better than him and maybe Matthaus.
Most of the other days are their just based on word off mouth, if we are making a talent top 100, Ronaldo wouldn't make it, but greatest is about more than talent, and even though I do rate him, he has almost everything else down.
the list goes out the door anyways when their is no xavi/iniesta but a zidane anyways
I agree that its not just about talent (that things like consistency matter as well)- but I can't take anyone seriously if they try and suggest that both things matter equally, or that talent doesn't count for more than consistency, when deciding who's a better, more talented footballer.
Ronaldo's consistency is incredible, but it's still not enough for me to say he's as good a player as [such-and-such].
In a list of most consistent players he's be beating all round him; but this is a discussion of best players and high talent and ability with decent consistency simply means more than lower talent and higher consistency.
