Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

There is a poll on Redcafe now about who is the best player of this generation and Messi is way out in front. I would say 80% of football fans know Messi is a level above Ronaldo and the fact Portugal won it without Cr7 strengthens Messi's position as undisputed goat right now.

Messi will be 31 in 2018, so if he wants revenge, its time to do it in a much bigger competition than this crappy Euro, really, after seeing this tournament its pretty clear to me that it shouldn't be a big deal to win the fucking World Cup when all Europe looked like this dump hole, all he needs is ambition and convince El Loco to send Higuain home after the semifinals.

Are you kidding me? Argentina is not even as half good as many of those European "dump holes", whoever is in charge.

There are many stupid Real Madrid and Ronaldo fans out there masturbating themselves saying Ronaldo is on par, even better than Messi in terms of the so-called "status in history" simply because of this ONE NT trophy he won.

Their worship of him and hopes he returns after 7 yrs is both pathetic and hilarious.

I can't believe he has an international trophy before Messi. In 1 year from now, hell even an hour after the game, no one remembers CR barely played the match but that he raised the Euro trophy for Portugal. Their first. Life is not fair but oh well.

Ronaldo may have lifted the trophy but he did not give people an image to remember him by in this tournament. Everyone remembers Zidane volley in Glasgow or headers in the final in 98, Platini's goals in 84, Maradona's goals against England and Belgium in 86 or Iniesta against the Netherlands. Ronaldo has done nothing in this tournament that will stick in the minds of people.

And that is the advantage Messi has because he has so many memorable moments that set him apart and Ronaldo doesn't. Stats will be forgotten but the images of Messi doing something other worldly will become more magical when he retires. There may be a debate now between some people but in 10 years or so people will wonder how anyone could compare the two.

Copa wouldnt save Messi. It was always World Cup that was the aim for Messi.

I could undrestand logic that Ronaldo is better if Messi didnt have 3 better tournaments then him and all lost in final while ronaldo in his worst one got to final and didnt even play. How is that any different?

My thoughts are that CR is a once in a generation freakish goal scoring phenomenal footballer. Lionel Messi, however, is the Greatest of All Time.

Don't know why folks are arguing. Cristiano has won an international trophy and Messi hasn't. Doesn't matter if he played or not.

Why is that being used as a basis of who is better? We know that its Messi.

Noticed media not going big on him as I expected. The injury really messed up for him and his glory moment. Eder winning it for them

Except BBC ofc, but their twitter rubbish backfired big time.
