Daniel Alves

James Milner just turned down a 4 year contract worth £34m.

James.

Milner.

Give Alves whatever he wants, I don't care, we just can't afford to lose him.

Every big EPL club is looking for English players who can make 10 metre passes in order to meet the home-grown requirements. Milner knows this. Especially City are in need of homegrown players as 99% of their team is foreign.

Milner is in demand as the EPL teams struggle to make up a decent squad and make their English youth quota.

Just what I wanted to post. City need him even more because they lack support in England and they can only get it by having good English players. Otherwise it will always be emptihad.

Nothing against Milner, think he's a decent, hard-working player. But if that's the money he's on then players of Alves' ilk should be on more.

Laurent Blanc was real harsh towards Alves on BeIn Sport.

He implied he uses other clubs because what he wants is just to sign a new contract with Barca. Nothing else.

Dang, how much did he talk about Barça? Seems like he talked about everything.

He's a fan. He said Barca is the best club in the world right now, and maybe in its history, and maybe in the history of football.

Talking about Alves, he even added it's hard to get players that play for Barca to be interested in another club, because of the above reason (Barca being the best club in the world)

Messi: "Alves is a very complete player - the best full back in the world. It's difficult to find someone who's so motivated for every game" Source - UEFA CL interview.

As some of you may know, I'm not Dani's biggest fan (mainly because of his defending), but I've got to give credit where credit's due...
He was magnificent in the Copa Final. The best game I've seen from him for a long time. He virtually played as a Right-Midfield in that game.

re: His contract. Fact is; he is still the clubs best RB. Montoya is not up to standard and it's too early to say about Douglas, from what little I've seen of him. Since Leo has moved to RWF/Inside Right, we have seen how great he and Dani are at linking up together, and it's brought the best out in both. It's also rare to have two players performing on the same wavelength as they do. They have a special relationship.

There is no guarantee that Dani will maintain these level of performances for next season, but as things stand today, I'd say: Renew him for a further year!

:emotions16:Congratulations Dani on a fine season! But not for dat haircut :D
