Will be interesting how this affects Vidal performances and will Lucho even trust Vidal?

Anyways, great news Dani! We have always loved you! :barcascarf:

Vidal will play a lot next year. Alves is 32 + now. Playing time will be split between them I guess.

Vidal will get plenty of chances. He is like Lucho was and can play left/right/centre across a variety of positions and is fit as a fiddle.

He will most likely settle at RB but of will be useful across a lot more than that.

I think he will very good as a sub too, he has lot of pace that could be helpful in dying minutes of the matches.

Bit of a tease, Alves, no?

All this public drama and then he signs it, like a spoiled child.

Obviously, I can't comment on how he was treated, or the offer etc, but childish it seems how this has gone on.

I'd imagine he's majorly pissed off some big clubs in Europe though :D

Blanc basically said he wanted to stay and was using other clubs to get the deal he wanted.

Gotta love Dani, for a multitude of reasons but the manner in which he handled these negotiations says a lot about who he is as a person and as a cule...He's a wacky dresser but one of the truly great blaugrana legends now too

Got rid of his agent, to hire his ex-wfe and then proceeded to launch a pressy to dispute rumours about already having made a pre-agreement elsewhere and state his intentions...Then the tears & emotion at the ceremony after winning CL, this is a player who loves the club and fought to stay...I'm not sure many would've done what he did, even cantera players...Dani put himself out there, repeatedly

We're also really lucky for a multitude of reasons with this club & it's players but few merit more our collective affection, loyalty & admiration than Dani

Really thrilled he continues, great great news

What I see is a guy who tried to pressure the club for more money and gave up when he saw they're not budging.

Or more happened that we have no idea of. All players got nice bonuses after winning the treble. Alves never wanted to leave, or he'd be gone.

A lot of people who were simply chasing the best deal would leave and certainly wouldn't hold a pressy to deny links to other clubs that conceivably strengthened his bargaining position
