As usual, Luiz is an easy target for criticism. The truth is that he's an excellent defender. In the right team, with the right partner.

Thiago Silva. I doubt Pique would be a good pairing for him.

just saw highlights. regarding the play from today: of course he has to shoulder some blame there but it definitely isn't his alone. the way chelsea were defending was "19th century" on that play. sit back in the box and two guys ivan and ramires (i think) allow the west brom player just outside the box about five meters to cross the ball at his leisure. the cb's caught in a line as well.

a lot wrong with that play. and a coach like mourinho will know it.

Ye, I actually had Silva in my mind when I wrote that. I was very impressed by their partnership in the Confederations cup.

Yeah, and Mou doesn't exactly seem to have a hard-on for Luiz either. I could easily see him leave in the summer. Whether Mou will agree to sell to us, though, is a different matter.
