Whatever the reason for not playing, Villa is paid too much to be sitting on the bench or being a rotation player.
He will play more or be sold.

Pitty he didn't play tonight too as he would have scored one of those sitters Messi set up for others.

Maybe he didn't play tonight because we were already winning 3-0 and Tito wanted to keep him fresh for Levante's game..

Villa's contribution to the team this season is better than Pedro's(not for that long) and obviously better than our other strikers'. Due to his age and recent injury he gets slightly less minutes than he deserves, but we have too many strikers who are providing when needed thanks to good mangement from Tito regarding the distribution of playtime. Tello deserves minutes to keep developing. Alexis is not living up to his potential, but Tito and all of Barca want him to succeed, so they give him playtime(more than deserved sometimes). Pedro is young and will be with us for many years. The team is above any player. The team is producing enough in terms of goals. Tito is doing great with the rotations. Period

Come on guys !! If the reason behind villa not playing was that he's not from masia, then Alves wouldn't get any minutes neither an avg player (by barca standard) like SONG would be purchased.

It's much more important if Villa is healthy towards the end of the season than right now. I agree with how Tito is rotating him.

Villa will be needed, obviously, since his goal instincts are vital when the attacking players become too shy in front of goal alongside Leo...Plus, injuries continue to impact the squad

Cuenca's most recent injury update slated him for a late November or early December return - Tito even commented that there's no rush...He has apparently put on 3 kgs of muscle mass and is doing well...Still, it's far longer than initially projected

Alexis out a month which would be early to mid December

And the rest of the injuries:

Thiago
was supposed to be out 8 weeks which would be the end of November

Bartra is out 2-3 weeks which would be end of November, beginning of December

Adriano out 3 weeks which would bring him back by the end of the month

Muniesa had ACL surgery and is out a minimum of 6 months - Spring is the earliest we'd see him return to training in all likelihood

This thread mirrors what this forum has become. And it's really sad. Hoping for an injury to another player just so your favourite could play more it's just pathetic. Also the least we can expect from Villa is him taking his chances, especially when his general play is worse than Pedro's or Alexis' and he earns as much as both of them.
But hey, it's not like Villa ever had 10 consecutive games at Barca without scoring a goal or had an efficiency in front of goal of 7% in 2011. Though it may have been Alexis' or Messi's fault because they didn't pass him the ball.

+ gloryhunters, watch the same people be happy about a potential Villa injury after a goal drought.

The same people that wanted to sell Villa and Pedro last season..

they said on revista that man city have been talking with his agent and that he'd like a lot more playing time.

So Man. City decided to ask for David Villa despite having 4 strikers, all younger than him. It makes sense.

Balotelli and Dzeko will be shipped off sooner rather than later. That leaves Aguero and Tevez. Surely Villa could enter a rotation with them or perhaps even be deployed as a part of a three man attack. I don't take much notice of rumours like this, but Villa at City doesn't seem that far out to me.
