But you can't argue the signings of R10, Eto'o, and Deco along with Rijikaard help get the club back up from the dark ages. Plus it was that management that promoted and kept Messi

Thanks for all the memories Big Dave. Wont ever forget those golazo's that pulled us through those tough games! :worthy: Wish you all the best at Atletico :beer2:

Was just saying because there were a couple people here yesterday claiming that no one would have bid more for him. Spurs did too.

According to MD( Spurs) offered 5 millions. Only a small difference. But Villa wanted to play for Atletico so it was impossible to get more money than what Barca got.

Ronnie was bought only because Laporta didnt get his favorite target Beckham.

I think we could have spent those 120m euros on other players than the two of Villa and Henry, capable of doing better than what they did for us to win what we did. Henry and Villa were players with their best years clearly behind them when they were bought.

We bought huge number of players under Laporta. Debt skyrocketed and flop ratio was around 85%. So far, we have bought 7 players under Rosell which have played a huge number of games for us and been important.

Alba has been the best transfer we have made in at least 5 years. I like the way we are buying players with their best years ahead of them, not the way we used to do it.

but why do we want to buy thiago silva during rosell era,we had 40 million to spend why didn't we sign javi martinez last season instead of chasing ts.

The players that gained in value and have been a success would have no reason to get sold really.

Barcelona could sell plenty of players for profit if they wanted to.

robinho was sold for a good profit by madrid, and if they sell higuain it will be for good value, was zlatan not succesful but we still sold him for half the price we got him

Honestly the whole idea of the move "being respectful to Villa" is kinda weird, it's like they pick & choose when to be respectful so the club gets good PR, especially after the Abidal debacle. Where was the respect all season long when he was benched most of the time?

Having respect for a player is a totally different thing to not playing him.

They can still respect him and his wishes and think him no longer good enough for the first team.

I don't think this has much to do with his transfer saga. Benching or playing him is merely the coaches decision. His transfer is the club's.

Yes but if he clearly wasn't in the team's plans, why refuse to sell him in January & keep him rotting on the bench for several more months?

I'm sorry but this whole thing stinks to me. As do most of the things that are going on with us lately. I don't trust Rosell for one second to not have some ulterior motive with anything he does.
