David Villa

Prediction champion 2012-2013
Tonight he showed why he is one of the most natural born finishers in the game with two well taken goals :)

I think the point is, the MUCH more likely scenario is that Tito is being cautious with Villa rather than there being any sort of weird conspiracy locker-room dispute EPL type bullshit. It is much more likely that Tito is being cautious with Villa and is being mindful of the long-term picture rather than some petty crap like Tito prefers Sanchez, Tito hates Villa etc etc.

Anyways... it's BEAUTIFUL to see him playing like he is. I still have no doubts that he's going to be one of our biggest assets heading into the nitty gritty part of the season coming up. What a master this guy is :worthy:

And they are saying it was just cramps. Like I said, not an injury...

It seems that after all I was right, and people like Strict will need to find another excuse to make their point as how Tito was right for benching Villa or not playing him every time the last 2 months.

Well, I've seen it happen a few times to Barca players before and they were "fit". It just happens, and you can't do shit about it. Happens to professionals, in all kind of sports (which I watch, I recall Nadal talking about it in a spanish tv show). I'm pretty sure Tito didn't benched Villa the last 6 matches because he was "afraid" that Villa would get "cramps" hahaha. And sir, you need to read my last post. I've also said that Villa's body is not used to play 80 mins every time, because Tito decided to give him 9 mins every match or don't play him at all in the last 2 months. Villa lately just get random minutes whenever the coach wants, but he doesn't get consistency, regularity, translated in minutes, and that's not his fault, sir.

Not too bad for a guy with "bad dribbling skills".

In all seriousness, its not his usual thing. He can occasionally get the better of his defenders but he's always been more about his deadly aim and finishing in front of goal. But he's not a terrible dribbler either like some have suggested.

The injury is thankfully not too serious.

I really hope he gets the playing time he deserves from now on. I´m tired of hearing the coaches say he´s not 100% fit, not ready to play at the highest level... his injury is over a year gone now, even a snapped ligament would be fully healed by now.

According to transfermarkt.de, he´s played 953 minutes so far this season, scoring 9 goals and giving 2 assists. And these statistics don´t include tonights game, so add another 2 goals. :worthy:

Even if the injured part has healed by now, "healed" means it's not broken anymore. It does not necessarily imply that the person is immediately capable of playing world-class professional football. That's a different story all together. Even completely healthy players struggle to stay in form at such a high-level. Therefore, I don't see how someone can't understand why a 31-year-old player needs more than 12 months after breaking his leg to return to the very top and be able to perform at that level consisently. Of course he isn't 100% fit and ready to play at the highest level. Give him some damn time, FFS.

I would understand that if he´d be struggling to perform, but look at his statistics. He´s basically scoring 1 goal per game. And he´s been working out and running since the summer, so fitness shouldnt be an issue at this point in the season. One would expect him to struggle to score, he´s being subbed in most of the time for the last 10 minutes, unable to gel with his teammates and get into any kind of match rythm, but he still scores! I don´t know what the coaches are waiting for.

Probably waiting to play Villa in some "so - called" important matches to be able to fetch a good price in the summer lol
