Deco

Who has he bought tho

He was responsible for buying B players in 2023, and brought Pau Victor, Gerard Martin, Noah Darvich & Faye. Other than Darvich, the rest showed they belong to first division level at least, and Darvich himself is a big talent but bad fit for Spanish football. This year he is bringing many African good players, Diarra is the most important, Oduro is has the potential to be first team player LB.

And yes, that doesn't speak highly about him being able to manage first team, but again, it doesn't say anything because as I explained before, it is a locked situation he was put in. No funds, no sellable players that would open salary margin. Nothing.

Tbh, I've respect for anyone who accepts to work in such conditions. Deco was on his way to make his agency a big household name and he left that to work here in those awful condition.

None of these signings actually help the team now. WTF are you on about?

But you all believed that another brazilian fraud would be the next star too.
Barca can't touch top euro talents anymore.
Relegated to Red Bull tier, let's see those Africans outside an U17 tournament were they always dominate.

Respectfully he was brought in to help the first team not the B team.

1-He was actually hired for both, not only first team.

2-You know the old wisdom of "You can't help someone who don't want to help himself"?

Deco, or any other SD, can't do anything if the club has no salary margin to register a 2.7M signing like Pau Victor.
The guy literally has an amortization equals 540K annually, with a salary of 400K annually (although, I am quoting capology which is highly unreliable). And that is after selling Gundogan & Faye.

So, Respectfully, tell me what can he realistically do, before asking what he does?

Well yeah it’s also his job to sell players

Gundogan is ok start but he’s been here a while and Deco basically just did some Barca B singings and called it a day

Meanwhile first team players that could actually help us and were available for cheap all turned him down

Plot thickens. That damn chef that ruined Lewa's omelette was not the only one to blame for these troubles.

People thinking like these days you can't work "from home".

But there was little he could actually do until Laporta brought us back to 1:1 rule.

Could potentially only sell someone like Eric to Girona but Flick didn't want to let him go.

Also, he reportedly convinced Araujo to stay when he returned.

I think we'll be only able to fairly judge Deco's work from this summer if our situation will improve. But I'll believe it when I'll see it. Thebes will probably be butthurt because of the Olmo case and put all kind of obstacles in front of us again, lol.

Deco has nothing to do with the finances, because he lacks training in that obviously. That was Alemany's job while Deco focused entirely on the sports department. After Alemany's exit, Laporta took the club's finances into the board's area of responsibility.
Deco lead a successful agency. He has knowledge and experience to scout players and evaluate them, especially as a former Barca player. He also has a huge network with all the important football agents because of his prior work in his agency.
That's where he works, not in the finance department. That's now mainly Laporta's and his board's job, until they find a second Alemany.

So there is nothing wrong with him doing holidays, when the club tries to solve financial issues as he wouldn't have worked on them either way. You can blame him to take holidays during negotiations with players, but obviously he won't do that.
