As I've said before, give him a summer with 200m to spend and lock Laporta to @Fati_Future_BallonDor basement for two months so he couldn't meddle with transfers and you will all be pleasantly surprised with what he'll do.

Has a right to be frustrated but he knew the deal.

Part of the job is selling players though. Araujo could still be sold inspire of his injury for example.

Now we have to register Araujo, Christ and Olmo for Jan so it's not getting easier.

Injury crisis and can't even register Hermoso or Hummels on a free for example.

What can ya do.

Who would buy an injured, injury prone defender, that fucked up so royally in the CL.

Too many things going against that sale, it he was fit, would make that potential sale much easier.

Because the injury can drop the price by 20-30m.

Why would we do that?

Because we need income and we lose leverage with Araujo every transfer window.

80m asking price reduced to 50-60m is better than zero in 2026.

Currently we can't fit his current salary mass of 6m, let alone renewing him.

Christensen = 6m
Araujo = 6m
Olmo = 11m(?)
Gavi = 6m

All four need to be registered in winter market when returning from injuries.

EDIT

Actually LaLiga.com is a bit of an expected mess. All 4 are showin in the registered Barca squad so F knows what the reality is.

The club's finances are really not easy or straightforward. We don't have a clue what's going on and what deals could be in the process. So I'm giving the board the benefit of the doubt.

Absolutely worst timing to sell Araujo unless they know he'd never renew.

True. If we reach next summers window without a renewal and are looking to sell, we will risk a less than optimal fee or even losing for free.

I think though on the sporting side, he may not be as big a liability on the ball as the PSG game made him look, as Flick is provide us with plenty of movement and outlets.
