Didn't have the chance to watch the match vs Sevilla. How did he do?

Involved i the goal, but the team as a whole was outclassed so its hard to judge him on this, although tbf Rafinha showed immense danger against us when he played last year and ripped through our side a couple times, but different teams and maybe lucho is just a better coach. Hard to judge but his talent is clear indeed.

Sevilla losing to Feyenoord right now and, as per usual, have an element of disorganization about them and struggle to put passes together. I worry for Denis's development that he's playing in a side where he gets few touches which are scattered across minutes. Even when he can be involved in moves the attackers are relatively isolated and stuck in difficult situations as a result of poor buildup play.

Teams like Rayo and Celta would've been better for his development. He could've learned a hell of a lot tactically under Jemez and he's already familiar with Celta since he came from there in his youth. He's shown flashes of brilliance at Sevilla but every game I watch him play it's clear to see how difficult it is for him to make an impact when the system is so chaotic and dependent on random moments of fortune or chance to capitalize through individual skill.

On the other hand, he wouldn't have the chance to play european tournaments in Rayo nor Celta...

At least in Sevilla, he could start almost every games.
Also, the another good side is that He will be able to try, test and develop his individual skills more in Sevilla.
In terms of playmaking, build-up play, positioning and decision-making etc., I think he is already good enough.
IMO, He is one of the most intelligent players among the young players in Europe.
I think that is why he could adapt to Segunda and La Liga so fast.
However, he needs to improve his ball control skills (dribbles, touches, etc.).
He needs to be more efficient and dangerous because in Barça, you are only given very tight spaces.
If he is to carry out Iniesta role or sth similar in the future, He needs to be more crack-type of player.
Otherwise, he will be next Cazorla (minimum?).

He is not like Xavi-type of player (+ Pep, Pirlo, Samper etc.) who controls the tempo of the game.
But he can play as a central midfielder as well.
His playmaking style is similar to David Silva but more attack-minded and more pace.

Didn't like being subbed and rightfully so. Once he was taken out, Rijeka started pressing more.

He's playing fantastic now against Eibar. Emery must feel silly that he didn't give him more minutes in this one.
