Brilliant
I thought he was one for the future and i was personally blind to all his hidden attributes and ball distribution

if it's true then it's a shame, because I think he had immense potential and 1 season is not enough to judge someone on. he was indeed a signing for the future (with marquez and puyol's decline) and so to sell him after one season is baffling. who knows how well he would have adapted given more time.

but with all that said, the crowd had turned on him. he received jeers which no one, not even zlatan, did. and if the crowd had turned on him then playing him was always going to be a risk and thus it becomes much more complicated to get him the games he needs to bed down into the team.

and 15m is a fantastic fee to receive, only taking a 10m loss on a player that was overpriced by 10m is as good as one could hope for really.

makes the botia deal a bit strange though, but then didn't laporta exercise that? surely re-sign him for the 3m or whatever it will cost?

I'm well pleased. I love our new prez already...:D

Now my only grouse is why didn't they keep hold of the dashing Botia :(

I'm with Meta on this one...Would be a shame to see him deemed surplus this soon, IMHO...There's a real composure and intelligence to the player that I feel would've adapted well eventually...Still, this remains unconfirmed I suppose.

In the end though, I place blame with Txiki for screwing the pooch on the inflated price as well as getting him cup tied - he ended up being purchased for the same price Shakhtar wanted from the outset

Oh don't u dare throw this on Txiki , you lot already pulled that same stunt the year before it to make Pep a flawless angle

refer back to the thread and all of you said Pep wanted him even if he was cup tied and that's "Pep choice " unlike Henrique,Caceres...etc that u all blamed on Txiki even when Pep was in charge

what makes this strange (if it's true) is pep requested chysus, and surely did so knowing he'd be a project who would not be done after one season.

so either sandrusco is forcing him to sell the player (why? I don't know) or he has decided no amount of time will help (which seems short-sighted to me, but eh, I trust pep).

either way, the only thing that could be motivating this (he will need replacing, we can't go into the season with piqué, milito, puyol and marquez as our CB's... that's BEGGING for trouble, especially now we've sold yaya) is that pep reckons botia/fontas/muniesa is ready for first-team football. coz otherwise selling him to just sign another CB seems a bit too revolving door.
