Waves and waves of chances? No. They were more threatening, but they didn't dominate. Paulinho should have scored, and Barca had other opportunities that didn't materialized. It's quite baffling that people think Madrid was some kind of monster in the first half.
Yep, my sentiment exactly.

Problems, what problems? You dont have any, you are a flawless team, basically.

I nvr said we shud be a flawless team, but Roberto as a RB isnt all that great defensively and we are lucky Ronaldo is in a terrible shape as of now, if u were to play Roberto back in the Supercup I can guarantee we will have the same problem. If facing PSG with Neymar will exploit on Roberto and Rakitic. Thats if PSG wins Madrid which looks more possible now based on how terribble they are playing.

Also, we still shouldnt be too complacent.

I think people are forgetting how inept Luis Enrique was, I would say our performances this season has more to do with managerial tactics than lack of Neymar. I would have loved to see Neymar under Valverde but we all know what happened.

another note: when was the last time we didnt concede against Madrid in a game?
must be the famous CL away leg 0:2 in 2011 with pepes red card and messis wonder goal

a lot of clasicos in between, they usually always score ( like us)

We certainly created some chances in the first half but in my opinion and recollection they could not be compared with waves nd waves of chances Madrid created and almost scored on. If Valverde's plan was simply sitting back in the first half and tiring out Real Madrid, then his plan did work but also he got lucky that Madrid did not materialize anything. I am just thinking if they had scored his plan would have backfired. Don't know if this is the right approach against elite teams in Europe as we have to count on our luck in the plan.

Stupidity has no bounds.

So many bad expectations. People, we will fuck them over. Wait and see. :barcascarf:

hehehe. I will say, didn't I say so?
So good to be smartass and have braginig rights ;)

Barça totaly fucked them and pwned them.
+14 mtherfckrs!!!!! :=

damn... he plays for my country, and I love his play style, but he really gave Rakitić too much space there. I guess that's what you get when you play man coverage on Messi :)

My thoughts exactly. Kovačić was so focused on Messi he just let Rakitić go ... It was a "shocking" to see.

We're actually a better team without Neymar, I didn't expect this.

More team balance.

Nah, I'd put that on Casemiro who got caught out of a position he should never leave in the first place.

Mate we trashed them 0-4 a few years ago with none other than Lucho at the helm. That was before Zidane.

Overall, The team seems to be more defensively disciplined under EV as opposed to Lucho.

Apart from the one or two scares, we were compact and organized for the most part, which is something EV has done well with Bilbao and now with us.

We are easily the best defensive team across Europe this season.

We also have the defensive steel that Umtiti will soon reinsert into the team along with Dembele's awesome pace.

All the celebrations (for our alleged terminal decline) from our rivals within Spain, in England, France and Germany will soon be proven as the premature BS they always were.
