25 yrs and 21 goals in Bundisliga on a lesser team than BvB.

Doubt Frankfurt will let Silva go for 40m when Haaland with the similar stats costs 180m.

Clubs lining up to pay what's asked for Haaland while one won't be surprised if noone even offers 40 for Silva.

Different classes completely.

21 goal , 7 penaltys.

I am not impressed by single his goal.

Look at it and tell me one wc trait that Andre Silva has...

180m isn't that crazy. Players with one year left on their contract still go for pretty big fees, so Haaland's price wont be too cheap just because his release clause is 75m next summer.

Quick reminder, that people don't know what Haalands release clause is. 75m was what newspapers said a year ago when he was signed, but since then the numbers speculated are even north of 100m.

Still worth every penny.

Add to that the fact that more competition on the player = higher wages required. If you're the only team in position to sign him this year, instead of one of 10 teams paying the clause next year, you won't have to outbid everyone on his salary. On a 5 years contract, that could make a pretty big difference.

It's true that it's much better to pay an absurd transfer fee than an absurd salary.

Another reason for that is the knock-on effect: when one guy gets a ridiculous salary, everyone wants a ridiculous salary and it destroys your wage structure.

Frankfurt burned me after the Jovic fiasco. Not trusting them again.

Saying that Haller was good and is doing well for Ajax now judging by his output.

Nice profile for a better Braithwaite.

If we don't get Haaland, or Mbappe, then there's no superstar out there to be worth anywhere near 100m. In that case, we need to switch our approach to a Liverpool-like strategy. What they did with the signings of Salah and Mane, even Firmino to an extent. Good, solid, players with athleticism and talent for 30-50m. But do the scouting well and don't land 50m. bets like Gomes. We need fast players.

There's more than 1 road that leads to a very successful team in the future. The best teams in recent years were Bayern and Liverpool. Here are 5 of their 6 attackers. Mane, Salah, Firmino, Gnabry, Coman/Perisic.

Neither was bought for anywhere near 100m. So it's not as if we're doomed for CL if we can't sign Haaland or Mbappe. A lot will depend on our scouting, and key pieces like Laporta, our Sporting Director, and Koeman. If they do a great job, we'll have a very competitive team.

Salah was sold when most expensive player in history was worth 105M,if he was sold after Neymar deal he would have cost 70M at least.
He wasn't a bargain when the deal was done, check his thread. People were laughing at Liverpool.
But they got their players right, if Dembele, Griezmann, Coutinho performed like you 10 players, we would have been in different spot atm.

I agree there are different roads to glory, at the end it is about how you execute the plan that matters.
