Erling Haaland

Maybe we should make a list here with all the users who would have to eat a broom in the summer if Haaland switches to Barca. Just to be on the safe side, because according to the generally well-informed Fabrizio Romano (despite all the advice of the numerous "financial experts" we have here) Barca at least is "in the race". Nothing more, nothing less. But it's already clear: If Haaland isn't coming, then everyone knew it beforehand and if the completely unrealistic case should arise that Haaland comes to Barca, then everyone will be happy and exploit the side effects (which of course only exist at Barca, both financially and sportingly). The usual pattern: Prepare yourself for all scenarios!

The key question remains: If everyone is so sure that we can't afford Haaland and his camp is not interested in coming to Barca, why is it discussed at length? Pure waste of time. You can sit back and relax and enjoy the reports of Barca's interest in Haaland.

I haven't read any statement from Laporta, Alemany or Xavi that Haaland will play at Barca next season.

He cant make a decision yet cause he does not know if barca will make it to the UCL. He probably does not know himself right now. Mbappe hasnt even moved to Madrid yet. If he stays at PSg hes going to madrid for sure.

Excluded a bad injury I don't see him flopping at Barca. He'd be like Zlatan at worst, who was hardly a flop. Only thing that made him "a flop" is what the club made out of this situation. 22 goals and 13 assists in 46 games are good numbers.

Now that Messi is gone Barca desperately needs a new leader. With leader I mean a player that precedes with good performances, scoring ridiculous numbers of goals. Haaland won't create anything near Leo's numbers when it comes to playmaking, key passes, assists, but he scores goals and goals usually win you games.

However, I don't see him becoming a franchise player, ever. If his next move is Spain, he'll leave for the Premier League at the age of 25, 26, 27.

You never know, he might stay in Spain for the rest of his career. Majority of people don't like English weather. Barcelona is a big club and great place to live, if he becomes a huge star in Barcelona he could stay for a very long time.

[Le Parisienne] Arsene Wenger: I know Erlin's father well and I know he is thinking seriously about Barcelona because he doesn't want to be second to Mbapp? at Real Madrid ||

Make it happen. Make a poll "is it possible Haaland comes to Barca in the summer?" With "Yes" and "There is no chance" as options.

Then if he comes, everybody who voted no gets banned for 6 months, a year or so.

Sounds fun.

he was born in Leeds. He will definitely play at least for them when he approaches his last years

Norwegian football fans tend to be very anglophile, most of the football fans here have an English club as a second team in addition to their local team here. A lot of times it is even a Championship and League 1 team. I'm sure likes of Morten and ThwiX can back me up on this.

But even then.......if you ask most Norwegians here if they'd rather live in Spain or England they'd choose Spain without blinking twice

We are certainly in the race for him, feasible or not, Laporta and Alemany can't tell the fans that "we are not going to go for Haaland because we don't have the money or we can't make the math work", certainly not.

But practically speaking the chances of getting him are small, right? Even if we were able to take out another big loan to finance his transfer and beat out the competitors, salary cap-wise how is it going to fit him in? Unless our salary cap next season increases significantly to the point that we can incorporate him without even selling players. Not likely, right?

It is increasing to more than 400m next season.

It's been explained multiple times why our salary cap is so shit this season with the club taking as much in losses as possible through writing off amortizations and what not for a clean slate next season.

Do you happen to know how much we're paying this season (cca)? Wages + amortization, that's what it's about, right?

I haven't gone through SwissRamble's thread in details, so the magnitude of the losses matters, not just the fact that we incurred in a loss, correct?

I think it is likely that we will also incur a loss this season, even with the recovered matchday revenue. 50% of Barca Studio which was accounted to be sold for around 50m is still not sold yet, plus the greatly diminished payments from the CL. So if we incur another loss but not huge, it will help us recover our salary cap to 400m next season?

Barcelona are in the race without question. This is a club with 92 major trophies, home of the biggest stadium in Europe, with a history of players like Messi, Suarez, Xavi, Iniesta, Cruyff, Koeman, Romario, Stoichkov, Rivaldo etc etc etc.

Yes the club has been disastrous the last couple years but is still one of the most appealing clubs in world football to play for, to follow in the footsteps of the best players of previous generations located in a warm climate as an added bonus.

This guy is definitely overrated. He is 100% reliant on service. His on-ball skills are below average. He can read the game very well, he can run like a cheetah and he can finish surprisingly well for his age. Isnt really world-class. Reminds me of an upgraded Aubameyong.
