Erling Haaland

60m release clause. 40m in commissions in total is being talked about. Split between his father and agency.

24m per year salary. Total package of 220m euros for five years. Far away from the 350m Spanish papers kept harping on about.

24 NET I guess ?

Expensive but completely attainable, and that's what the Arabs were willing to pay. I'm sure a real club with actual financial liabilities could've done a bit more with negotiations.

Getting Haaland was totally possible.

Catalan media with another fat L. Pretty much financed Haaland for City even though they got unlimited money. Wonder which club we will help out next ?

I was 95% sure Barca had no chance in competing with the petrodollars or Real Madrid for Haaland. Even a year ago with Messi still being part of the squad.

No idea whether the Laporta and late Raiola meetings really ever happened, never believed in those stories and it's a L for Catalan media, indeed. Journalists needed a crash landing in terms of sensationalism, as many sports writers are, and they got one.

Barca are light years away from their brilliance to attract or even afford big names.

He's going to City 99%, but the official statement only confirms that they have met his release clause and personal terms are yet to be agreed.

Barcelona (or anyone) could for example meet the same clause and release the very same statement.

Everyone reporting it as done and you're thinking he suddenly turns away and signs for another club. It is clear they've discussed things in advance.

It wouldn't be the first time a player decided in last minute to sign for another club :pique:

But yeah it's to 99,9999999% done. Pep and Haaland - a duo of maestros! :worthy:
