Erling Haaland

Half a season is too early to say whether Haaland is making City worse. One thing is certain, his goalscoring is incredible in this adaption phase.

Imagine how it will be next season once all parts of Guardiola system are adjusted and the riff raff like Grealish are shopped out.

Argument of them getting weaker "because of Haaland" is preposterous. It's as if he's the only thing that changed and the season didn't get turned inside out by Qatar while their main title rival can fob off the inferior European trophy at any point to focus on league campaign

Scores fine against smaller teams, but clearly struggles more against the bigger teams.

If he was bought to win UCL as some say, he needs to improve in the bigger games, though UCL knockouts can be more end to end and more space to be found, i suppose.

City won't win the CL this year, they just aren't playing well enough and team spirit looks completely missing to make up for the drop in performance.

Watching the game today and it was highlighted several times in post match analysis but countless number of his runs behind the defence get ignored.

Time and time again he could be played through but everyone bar De Bruyne never attempts it.

Yeah, looks like they have regressed as a team, thats for Pep to sort out, not individual players, of course.

As far as ignoring runs, isn't that just City's way of playing though, dont take risks and getting caught out of position, wait for the right moment?

Honestly Pep seemed to have lost his nerve this season too. Not sure he can change the entire squad this time around. It might be time for him to leave soon.

Problem is you're not getting the best of him then. City has the exact same number of goals as last season as they do now and Haaland has 25 of them plus they've conceded much more.

When he doesn't score, no one does and they leave so much space on the counter attack it's untrue.

Thats what you git when you play idiot Grealish on wing, most overrated player ever.

That defense is shit, Alvarez is not that good, B.Silva is already season amd half bad.

They don't have players that can score.
Last season Gundogan scored a lot of goals, this season he failedfrom cliff.

KDB and Haaland is only thing working, loaning Cancelo is bad move.

Sounds like Leao is unlikely to renew with Milan and he has gotten benched in back to back games. If Pep is going to continue he should look at getting in some actual quick wingers that can win 1v1s like him.

Haaland doesn't fit Pep's system. He would look like the world's top-3 player in a direct team. Imagine him for peak Klopp, scary stuff.

Ironically the two best forward players to compliment Haaland's skillset would have been Sterling and Jesus.

Jesus runs tirelessly and Sterling especially, is great at making runs and creating space for others. Grealish and Mahrez are static as they come in that department, ball to feet players slowing everything up.
