Great stuff. We wont have to worry about Fatporta chasing this No-brain player whole summer long.

Hope this makes path for Gyokeres/Isak or someone good.

Edit: Scratch Isak. Would be very expensive. I dont think we can.

If he doesn't have an interest to play in Spain, I understand this move. He'll sign his retirement contract with 24 already. He'll have a stable life without moving, without worrying about injuries, without worrying his team ever be in a bad situation for long, since a state is sponsoring them and they will always buy themselves out of every sporting crisis as we see right now again.
In addition he'll be one of the best paid footballers guaranteed for the next decade and they probably hide the real value of the contract he'll get through some sponsor deals in Abu Dhabi.
It's obviusly disgusting, that Fifa and Uefa allow state ownership in the first place, but can't really blame him to sign this. Football is corrupt to the bone.

Gyokeres has become majorly overrated. Seen plenty of him when he was at Coventry a couple years back to know you could cut his goal tally into a third outside of Portugal.

When that happens, he will then be called a donkey or whatever and the next striker in Portugal or wherever will be flavour of the month.

Good player don’t get me wrong but if a team splashes 80 mil or whatever and thinks they are getting 30 league goals from him, no chance.

Nah.

Gyokeres is far better on the ball and technical than Halaand.

No-brain might be a hyperbole, but it mostly signifies player with less technical ability.
More than Haaland? Sure but still nothing to shout about technically. He's not Isak level in technical ability.

True. Isak is levels ahead of him technically, but also will cost significantly more. And Gyokeres is sound, like good enough.

And anyways I was comparing Gyokeres and Halaand.

No need to crap on him just cause he extended his contract. It's too bad because I think he couldn't been great with yamal and the other kids in the team.

Unfortunately, I do not see an obvious successor to Lewa out there atm. Maybe someone will establish themselves in the next year but it is looking more likely that getting a st will be a priority in 2026.

Thankfully, the fatty will not act on his whim again and destroy us with a Bartomeusque transfer...

(as far as Haaland is concerned. Unfortunately, he still may do it with Leao)

He probably got a huge salary for accepting such a long contract which will help City with FFP like Chelsea did with all those long contracts. He will have a release clause in 2029 if he wants to try a different league but don't think there will be many top club suitors for him as he won't age well. I'm just glad now Laporta can't go all in on him in 2026.

They amended the rules to close the loophole Chelsea exploited.

Now, it does not matter how long a contract a player has.
Amortization is spread out for 5 years max
