Erling Haaland

No need to crap on him just cause he extended his contract. It's too bad because I think he couldn't been great with yamal and the other kids in the team.

Unfortunately, I do not see an obvious successor to Lewa out there atm. Maybe someone will establish themselves in the next year but it is looking more likely that getting a st will be a priority in 2026.

Thankfully, the fatty will not act on his whim again and destroy us with a Bartomeusque transfer...

(as far as Haaland is concerned. Unfortunately, he still may do it with Leao)

He probably got a huge salary for accepting such a long contract which will help City with FFP like Chelsea did with all those long contracts. He will have a release clause in 2029 if he wants to try a different league but don't think there will be many top club suitors for him as he won't age well. I'm just glad now Laporta can't go all in on him in 2026.

They amended the rules to close the loophole Chelsea exploited.

Now, it does not matter how long a contract a player has.
Amortization is spread out for 5 years max

If he doesn't have an interest to play in Spain, I understand this move. He'll sign his retirement contract with 24 already.

His interest might have been Madrid only, not Barca.
He now saw they got Mbape, and the status quo won't change the next 5 years to say the least.
Hence, release clause around 2029

But the real news is something else:

Why do City hand a fat contract (prob the highest paid ever in the EPL) RIGHT NOW?
Amidst of a winter window they have already spent some 200m on 3 players?

Do they informally know that they are about to get acquitted for the charges?
Or that they are about to receive a penalty that will look more like a caress (as they did by UEFA)?

Looks like he's not that ambitious to play for a real club but everyone has their preference.
Someone's dream is playing for fake/state sponsored club, in Manchester.

City isn't any less real of a club then Chelsea or Corner FC.

Not sure how the club is fake when his father played there too.

Thank God. Now Fatty won't go full retard on him.
I'm happy he's signed on for such a long time, no danger of us going in for him.
As a club I think we should always have a young striker who we can develop and an established one too. There seems to be a real paucity of good 9s. Sesko seems a good bet but I'm sure there's some gem out there who we can get for cheap.
