Ernesto Valverde - V1

Our players like Valverde though.

His tenure here has been nothing like Lucho where there was always stories of players having conflicts with Lucho. Messi even voted for EV as best manager at the FIFA awards.

The only difference between EV and the likes of Benitez is that Barca players actually want to play for and respect EV whereas Real players had no interest in playing under Rafa. Both are terrible tacticians.

EV is laid back and lets them do whatever they want, Pique fucking up 3 games in a row? no problem under Ernie, first CB on the teamsheet. don't even get me started on the Suarez situation.

wasn't there something about the senior players questioning his 'tactics' vs Roma?

I think one area that really needs more experimentation is the Midfield.

Don't need to even bench Coutinho either. Just give him some time with the likes of Vidal, Arthur etc. We have seen enough of what Rakitic and Busi Offer, how about giving Coutinho guys who actually have energy and might provide something different for once.

Vidal despite being a year older and coming off a knee injury actually had more in the tank in terms of energy than Rakitic and Busi do.

He keeps blabbing about respect for the other team, they can do this to us, they can harm us this way and that way etc etc. He needs to cut that shit out ASAP. What type of mentality is that to project on the team? There’s nothing wrong with respecting the opposition but he keeps doing it excessively.

Truer words have not been spoken.

I am still trying to figure out what Busquets and Rakitic bring nowadays. Both slow, both pass sideways and back. Both are mediocre work horses currently. Rakitic at least provides some work rate and physicality. Busquets provides nothing.

Messi voted for Lucho and IIRC Tata too.

Why doesnt he try a 4-3-1-2?

Suarez - Dembele
Messi
Cou - Raki
Busi
Back Four

Or

Suarez - Messi
Cou
Arthur - Raki
Busi
Back Four

I favor the second setup tbh, It would solve one of our low key issues of Coutinho being a terrible defender, plus, Suarez and Cou can push up and press the defenders instead of Busquets doing it and leaving our back four exposed.

Other than that, If I had my own say, I woul drop Raki in favor of Vidal and Roberto infavor of Semedo because I’ve had about enough of seeing Roberto on the defensive side and current Pique needs some pace next to him, simply put, Roberto doesn’t have that pace.

The main issue in 4-3-2-1 is that if you go with the first version, your kinda banking on Demebouz being a 20-goals striker, which he is not, dude is incredible but his finishing is not there yet.

All in all. I currently think this would benefit us the most, I just dont buy into the current false RW role Messi is playing, dude just ends up most of the game in the middle and it leaves the wing exposed.

This quote could be applied to Barcelona as well.

Karl Pilkington on supporting Manchester United: "I feel like supporting United is like having a tortoise as a pet. I had a tortoise, and they are not entertaining to watch. You don't watch them, but you know you have got a bit of responsibility to show some interest."

Alena and Malcom left out again! Motherfucker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God I hate this guy!!! How can ANYONE choose Munir over Malcom??? I would be fine with losing La Liga if this is the only way to get rid of this idiot.

Nice man management there with Malcom Valverde.

Guess Malcom is going to suffer because he isn't Willian, the player Valverde requested.

I remember posting this right after Malcom's first minutes for Barca :

Seems a bunch of people were agreeing with white knight Garrus , how Valverde was experimenting and whatnot. So guys stop hating on Valverde he is clearly "**cking experimenting to assess Malcom's highlights and limitations" on the stands. :coffee:

How me commenting on why he was playing left instead of right in a preseason friendly and others agreeing, Has anything to do with him being included or not included in the squad for tomorrow, Or any squad call up in the future.

No he isn't. I had my suspicions the way Valverde responded in the presser regarding Malcom and then him subbing him on on the left side when this random perez guy was playing in his position. Malcom being on the bench and out of the squad most of the time confirms that he just cant be bothered about Malcom . Im fairly certain if he got his shiny toy Willian he would have been ecstatic in the presser and would have debuted him on the RM position and most likely we would be still playing 442 (Not that it matters with him what formation we are playing , its boring football anyway).

I kept wondering how some Chelsea fans could watch shit football for so long and defend that type of football , but now it's starting to make sense since Valverde got some Barca fans talking like a bunch of Mini-Mourinho's in less than 2 seasons.

Never really understood people's tendency to interpret things pessimistically. It doesn't "confirm" anything when you think about it. All it confirms is the manager not thinking he's suitable to be included in the squad for one reason or another. Certainly I hope you don't actually think he's doing it out of vanity and being shunned over Willian. Nonsense mate.

How about we create a narrative of Malcom not applying himself in training? Impossible? Not really. People assumed that Zidane had it in for Ceballos and Llorente. Even last season Ceballos confirmed he's got the right mindset for the game while Llorente remained a fringe player. Does that mean two managers are being idiots over a quality player? Wonder to what tune would people sing here if Malcom kept rotting in the stands under a different manager.
