In Messi's thread a few days ago people were mentioning Sari, Klopp, Tuchel etc.
Both not available and knowing our board and history, even if they were available, we wouldn't hire them.
Remember that we were considering Unzue 1 year ago.
And every new coach will fire some players and buy new ones.
For example, if we hire Van Bommel/Cocu, it is quite possible that both a lot of older and YOUNGER players (Dembele, Malcom, Arthur, Lenglet) would leave a team right away and we would buy lots of new players.
That is a new kind of mess, on a different level.
After reading posts here, in some posts iz sounds as if a new guy will get rid of Suarez, Rakitic and similar and suddenly play/test Malcom and Arthur.
Maybe... Who knows?
He may even sell half of those players and buy 3 new Malcoms whom he knows/likes/needs.
Also, I have said a few days ago: THE BOARD signed long term contracts with Busi, Rakitic, Suarez, Pique.
So, the board will want a coach who will play those players.
Benching Suarez and Pique is quite expensive.
No one will buy them.
And if you bench them and buy Icardi, that means 100M on a transfer fee, paying wages for both Icardi and Suarez etc, even though our wage bill is already the highest in the world.
So, you need a coach:
1. who will have Barca's DNA
2. who will play like Barca
3. who will play our "legends" since they have long term contracts
That doesn't sound too promising, right?
If our only solution is Van Bommel or Cocu, then I have no idea what to do.

We could try with Conte. He can’t be worse than this idiot! If BARCA DNA is something truly needed than Valverde for sure would be supported by our board with his unattractive 4-4-2 during last season. It’s pointless to talk about Klopp, Tuchel or Sarri since they are not available.

Apparently said that the talk about problems with the team's dynamics are noise generated by other people and that they could have won the game many times today.
He also said that all this noise are making people not see the reality. Guy is really insinuating we're playing awesome football and are just unlucky
You expected something else? It's not his fault. He already showed us he is not a great manager and we decided to keep him. He is an average manager and he is showing that every month.
We have one of the best and most expensive squads in the world and you still have Barca fans saying our players are shit basically defending this idiot who can't, after more than a year, decide what type of football we should be playing.

Yes, but we're talking about what we want to see. Not what will probably happen given this board / our history.
It doesn't. Which is why we have been wanting to see this board out for at least the past 3 seasons. We're not singling out Valverde on this. Everyone is aware the problems start right at the top.
But going back to the logic of benching expensive players. The past 2 transfer seasons we bought Semedo, Arthur, Malcom, Coutinho, Lenglet, and Dembele. We have spent big bucks on those players and Valverde has had no qualms in benching them (some more than others). I think the board will want a coach who will play these players too.

Our players are overrated and shit, but other teams can play inferior players and somehow play better.
Time for this club to stop this Barca DNA or La Liga Manager BS.
Would rather hire a foreign manager that comes in with new ideas, plays progressive football and isn't afraid of dropping non-performing players.

Unfortunately there's no one to replace him with. Short of a miracle no name appointment we're shit out of luck.
The mistake was giving this guy another year when better managers were available during the summer. But that's the difference between a competent board and our absolutely inept board.
