Ernesto Valverde - V1

Solely regarding the result, EV did a fine job.

I wouldn't criticize him for not playing beautiful football. (Actually we haven't played beautiful football since Pep left.)

I'm skeptical of our playing quality. The CL become the top priority over the fans and the club after the triumph of Real Madrid. Are we able to win the CL under EV? We can see our defense is untrustworthy and vulnerable. The Roma debacle is still painful to our fans. Our key players are aging, we've spent the most over the years. It's unacceptable if we failed to win the CL.

EV can only redeem himself by winning it.

The barcaforum situation currently is similar to exactly one year back when this place was divided into 2 groups, one who thought EV was great and one who thought he was mediocre who was lucky enough to get results. As soon as roma happened most of those who thought EV was great realized the other group was right all along and you could feel a general sentiment of everyone considering EV mediocre at best here.

Now we are top of the table playing the same shite football we were one year back but getting results and we are in the same boat again. Not that I want to but any decent team can humiliate us in the CL and the general sentiment will reverse once again if it happens.

My signature has aged well with time.

Results cannot mislead. the only thing I know Real Madrid won 3 consecutive CLs. Do you think in 10 years someone will ask how they won it?
I think it is time to understand that we could only play that beautiful under Pep because of Xavi, ineista and Messi. Take them away and Pep wouldnt have done shit with Barca.

No matter which coach will come (people getting wet, writing "Setien", you will not see a football like under pep ever again, but not because of Pep, its because we had the best midfielders ever to grace the pitch.

Roma 3-0 Barcelona. How about that for results?

as misleading as peps knockout against chealsea and inter

Both games we were so unlucky not to win it. And both teams we lost to won the UCL. What's your point? How is this related to the Roma's humiliation?

I never understood some call themselves Barca fans yet they hate Pep and Pep's era which arguably the best era in the club history.

Tying yourself in knots to defend dear Valgreen are we?

Who here is expecting us to play like Pep's Barca? Some semi decent football with off the ball movements would be a good start.

Fuck we have so much potential now with Arthur and De Jong next season, I really hope I can unglue myself from Barca and to just stick to the highlights if he stays here next season.

lesson to all pep cult followers....

golden boy just threw league away v newcastle....

stubborn, tactically naive manager. won't adapt & he is a nothing without peak messi/xavi/iniesta.

pragmatist like valverde are much more suited to modern football.

You really are something else aren't you. Highest order of a Barca redditer.

Firstly, most of us, who complain about Valverde aren't comparing him with Guardiola and don't want Pep back. Secondly, our/my main criticism of Valverde is him being unable to react to things that can be seen from a plane. For example, Pique was responsible for 6-8 goals IN A ROW last October and wasn't benched. I have to admit that he is getting better with rotations, but it took him A YEAR AND A FUCKING HALF. His unability for in-game managment during crucial times is another thing (Roma). Small club mind when defending a lead is another thing that I hate with him. We are Barcefuckinglona and we could never defend ala Chelsea. And it isn't a part of what makes us Barcefuckinglona. Deal with it. Pep, Rijkaard, Tata, Lucho, Valverde or fucking whoever. We are an attacking team. Then there is him being reluctant to bench the old guard, despite some combinations (Raki-Busi) are clearly not working anymore.
