Ernesto Valverde - V1

I believe Nasser would rather commit suicide than sell Mbappe at this point. Neymar will be gone before Mbappe.

His contract will either run out or he will go for stupid money, something like 500 million, which no club can afford at the moment.

PSG needs to get money for mbappe - they wont let his contract run out. In 3 years he has one year left, and PSG will sell him for sure. Unless Mbappe is stupid enough to sign a new one.

They will throw so much money at him... The fact is that he will be at PSG for at least 3 years. Then we'll see what he does. If he wants money, he'll stay.

But still, looking at it from the market point of view, if Tottenham wants 125 million for Eriksen with 1 year on his contract, Mbappe would go for no less than 350 million. Nasser is even worse than Levy. I don't see him moving before 2022.

Yes, but for Spurs its different isnt it? If they lose Eriksen, they may not qualify for Champiosn league so they need a equal good replacement. If they keep him one year, they have time to figure out how to deal with it properly. And the 125m asking price is probably a joke, and i wouldnt be suprised if he was sold for 80m.

Also, PSG needs to consider FFP. Just because of the new sponsor deal, they cant just let their 180m+fee invesment walk for free. So in 3 years im pretty sure they will sell him.

Btw i really dont hope mbappe is stupid enough to sign a new deal. He does look really serious about his football career.

1. If a player is on the last year of contract and doesn't want a new one, the club is stupid not to sell. But knowing Levy and Nasser, they might hold onto them. Mbappe will be at PSG for at least 3.5 years from now. What happens next is mostly a question of money and Nasser's pride and Mbappe's ambitions as a footballer.

2. FFP is a joke. If they weren't sanctioned for spending almost half a billion euros in 2 years, they never will.

P.S. Nasser would sell Neymar before Mbappe anyway, if he needed to for FFP.

It is worrying for me how often this manager feels he has to conserve a result. Like 75% of the time Valverde thinks we should defend the result we are better off having a manager who can push for a goal to kill the game off.

This is not a good approach for us, without a tight defense. Nothing was tight about our defense last night, as to make a tactic like that durable and smart. We leaked chances left and right.

Tactical masterpiece from EV yesterday. We absorbed the pressure and hit them on the counter. After the first goal, Real collapsed. Yes, MATS saved the day and their finishing did us a lot of favor, but the plan was spot on. And that's how you win trophies. Trophies are not won by playing beautiful football but by playing the most effective football. And that's what EV's plan is all about. Defend deep, use your chances and win. Two trophies almost secured, this year it's all about the CL though. La Liga is secured, we're in the final of the Copa Del Rey. Everything is going our way so far. It's time to focus on the CL. First target: Lyon! I think we can do it this season. The team is picking up the moment and we can finally peak in Spring like Real did in the last three seasons.

Well said. We can't defend leads, we don't have the roster for it. The best defense is to have the ball.

Did EV masterplan involve letting Real players have so many chances and shots on goal? What kind of messed up plan is this? Unless he has a crystal ball and saw that Real players will waste all those chances.

Yes, it's a tactical masterpiece to rely on "luck".

Petition to create a thread called "luck"

Defending deep and leaking chances on top of giving the ball away in defense and midfield is basically asking for trouble.

Atletico can play like that, because they can reduce Juve to one chance the whole game from a measly free kick. We can't. So the game we did last night on Bernabeu better be the exception, not the rule.

We need a better plan in the big games. And that's not it. We have to stop other teams from playing, not try to stop them when they are near our 16m box, or even after they've breached it, hoping Stegen does miraculous saves time and time again. This can work at times with some luck, but if you go down this road too often, you will get burned. It's a near certainty. A manager who considers himself somewhat smart and good at his job should see this pretty clearly. He just does not have a defensive team.

It's nothing like Atletico defending well by pressing or classic Serie A teams playing tactically smart (boring) and then suddenly bite you like a cobra.

If your opposition have more opportunities and your goalkeeper is your star performer then that's called luck.

It's been proven time and time again that Barca can't defend but small-minded coach is locked in his stubborn ways as he sees success with results. Results which are brought by Messi and incompetence of rivals.

We've been playing worst kind of football since I am Barca fan. And that almost on regular basis and I was never that big on tiki-taka.
