(Reuters) - Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has vowed to continue as coach and says he has the backing of the club and president Josep Maria Bartomeu after Tuesday's humiliating 4-0 defeat by Liverpool which knocked them out of the Champions League. "I've spoken to the president and I have always felt supported by him and he has given me his absolute backing. When something like this happens it seems like everything is falling apart but we know what this world is like.

The only silver lining would be if valverde gets sacked. But if he has the support of our players,board it means he is their yes-man puppet.
So the only one that can change anything are our fans.
Unfortubately camp nou consists 80% of old socios who are happy to win la liga and eat a sandwhich, and clueless asian tourists who cheer when Pique gets a red.
I hope im wrong and this clown still gets fired(good job on the midseason renewal by the way).
By the looks of things there will be a period you can basically call post msn till Xavi arrives in which we will be lucky to atleast win la liga several times.
Maybe he can make the necesary adjustments with a board with a vision behind it rather than short term.
But next season looks bleak at the moment. Would you really offer a shitload of freetime for terrible valverde football and headaches?

Many probably don't agree with me, but I'm going to touch on a few complicated topics & the opinion that is shared by some forum fans in Spain.
First of all you have to bear in mind that there are elections in 2021 and the elections are not only to president over the football club but many more sports and business sections. I will give some examples:
- The "Grupo Godó" is a travel companion of this Board, they are a group of media of Barcelona among many things are owners of "Mundo Deportivo". It is the official pamphlet of the club from time to time they get exclusive news, interviews of players, the president, small favors, etc. His part of the contract is to defend this directive anyway.
- A member of the Board called Jordi Mestre is president of one of the most important hotels in Barcelona, the "Hotel Sofia", where most of the visiting teams stay, where events related to Barcelona are held, or for example where the meeting between Griezmann's sister and the board was held last year.
- Not to mention names like André Curys, Braida, the signings of Brazilian players, the commissions ... you already know.
There are many people getting rich thanks to FC Barcelona.
This Board and his close friends want to remain in power for obvious reasons and in 2021 they will resubmit, without Bartomeu because he can not, but surely with Cardoner as president.
Why are not decisions made? They are afraid, simply as that. They aren't going to kick Valverde because they don't want to look bad, they aren't going to throw or sell important players for fear of the "socis" but above all for fear of the most beloved person of the "socis", Messi. Messi, unwittingly & indirectly has become one of the greatest evils of the club. Not for his game, if not by the power indirectly given by all those around him. Board, coach & colleagues. Piqué, Busquets, Suárez & Alba, the biggest supporters of Messi are going to be starters until they want. As happened with Iniesta.
The players live very well in Barcelona:
-Piqué making documentaries, traveling all over the world in official training days because of his business.
-Rakitic in a party the day after the elimination against Liverpool.
-Alba pressing to renew.
-Messi renewing each year, the club paying his tax fraud.
-Suárez and Umtiti decide when to undergo surgery for their injuries.
-Messi, Suárez and Busquets decide when and how to rest.
This is a fucking joke. Of course they want him as manager. This coach will defend them and make them starters not matter what. I'm fully convinced that the club will not change until Messi retires, or there is a change of mentality in the club where each person has his role and nothing more than that. Can we win until then? Surely, and also many titles. But it's not the right way & more and more I feel disconnected from this club.
And this is not an attack at Messi, he is my favourite player, i'm a fan since Rivaldo days. This club is going to shit and we are looking the other way trinbking of past glories.
Of course we are going to sign De Jong, De Ligt, Griezmann, you name it. Piqué, Busquets, Alba, Rakitic, Suárez and Messi are going to be starters not matter what. One year older same old shit.

I didn't know rakitic had such a bad attitude problem, it was supposed to be one of his strengths. first his awful lazy performance, then this party bs. he needs to be dumped off to inter this summer. he is holding back the team. vidal can fill the "workhorse" role.
