EV picked about best team he could and it was an attacking one and tried to get the goals to put game to bed.
When Alba fucks up like that and is crying at half time when game far from done that is not all on coach.
He picked Roberto at RB.. better going forward than Semedo.. he picked Rakitic, Vidal and Coutinho in midfield.. all better attacking players than Arthur who was overly safe and not even fully fit. Not sure how more attacking folk think team could have been.
Unltimately coach will take most blame.. that is way it is but a lot of what EV gets directly blamed for in that tie is not correct.. he wasnt defensive and didnt really pick wrong team either.
Players fucked up and it looked another game where too many amigos couldnt quite keep up with the pace of it once Liverpool got tails up early.
The flip side of the 2nd leg is when Barca won 3-0 and should have been 4-0 had Dembele finished his chances.
There was a a lot of situations in those two ties EV could do nothing about and players when cross line have to do the job.
The structure of the team was not too bad and very even two ties overall.
