Getting , goal's , dropping deep if team/situation demand's ,unselfish plays , creating chances which need not be a assist. combination of all these makes one a complete forward. Not just goal's and assit. One can have a shit match overall and score a fluke goal like Morten can reinvent himself from a 'Sell Ronaldo' to 'Defend Ronaldo' Mode. So i dont believe in that analogy . For Me Messi was a much better forward than Gotze in Wc final

But in the end, wouldnt it have been better if Messi played shite in the final, and put his one chance against Neuer away rather than miss it?

Given that goals and assists are the most vital aspect of football, at least attacking wise, and they are both forwards, how can Messi have done more in the final then Ronaldo in the semis? Ronaldo has 1 goal and 1 assist today, Messi had neither in the final.
Cristiano wasn't intending to pass that come on:lol: if you want to look at football that way, then Cristiano is the best player of all time imo.

Definitely ,especially if you have Boeteng , Lahm and other German defender's against you rather than Second string Wales Defense ,who let England score twice against them

It would be. But that is football...It would be better if we got Wolfsburg, Roma and City instead of Arsenal and Atletico but that is luck and its integral part of the game. You will win some you will lose some. Had Terry not slipped in 2008, Ramos not scored in 94' minute and Grizman put his penalty into the net Ronaldo would have had no CL trophy.

Little things like that make this sport so good but also sometimes so frustrating. Him kicking a ball for 10 times per match and one being so bad that it bums into his teammate doesnt mean he is better then Pele for Christs sake.

Especially in cups and tournaments, anything can happen occasionally. League-play is alot more predictable, obviously, except when Leicester wins it

I have given Ronaldo both stick and praise over the years, anyone should know that. I can also tell you that for the most part he has been pretty rubbish this tournament, except for a few matches/moments here and there. But in knock-out play, all you really need is the moments.

I didnt say anything about one player being better than the other, i just said that goals and assist are probably the most important aspects of a forward. These player x vs player y discussions are boring and done to death, i have little interests for them.

Same thing if Pepe and Fonte will score 2 headers and then Ronaldo scores a hat trick in a Euro Final, same thing if Ronaldo breaks the deadlock like today?
Let him break deadlock against quality defense ,not against Wolfsburg , Roma , Wales that makes him better player than Messi
