Spain didn't go out because of the selections at RB or anywhere else in defence.
They went out because a) they didn't have the quality of players to convert their chances and b) the best players of the squad are not at their peak.
But as a team in progress they done well and will peak in 2-6 years +.
Whether that is good enough to beat other teams also not at their peak like England is another question. But everything is on the right track.

They partly did because he barely used one of the best attacking players this past season offensively, since he took him with a presupposition he can be his backup RB and otherwise never intended to use him. And that's despite pretty much every other forward (bar Adama) failing in front of goal. Nothing to do with defensive performance - which BTW on the whole I didn't mind that much from Spain.
This was a good night for RM-supporters(who are not spanish), none of our players had to play almost every game in the tournament, ending up with nothing and returning tired to club, ulike Barca.
Only Modric played a game or two more than i would like this tournament, otherwise, plenty of rest.

I have a new hate team now, that Portugal is out. Is Engurland, which play dire football and seems they are wanted so much to be the winners of this Euro, with the restrictions of other fans and the fact they ll play 6 games from 7 at home. So let's go Denmark and if not, Italy!
Boo hoo, Luis Enrique did great, this Spain team is mediocre, for them to reach the semifinals it's a big achievement. Spain's biggest problem is that they have shit forwards, Morata needs a diaper, and Morena is really not good enough for this level.

Nah. It is better seeing Pedri develop game by game at this level for his country at 18 than sitting waiting for next season to start.

It is not like if Spain had won the Euro and the players would come back to their clubs extra motivated, pumping their chest with a lot of adrenaline. Or the other away around, Spanish players back to their clubs feeling dejected and impacting the next season adversely.

Main reason Italy were largely a non-threat today is due to how well Spain controlled the ball. Italy were not able to organize many attacks on transitions and counterpress. English holding players Rice and Phillips are not as comfortable with the ball so expect more chances created.

People who are expecting England to run over Italy based on todays game dont take into consideration that while they have better finishers, they likely wont create as many chances and control the game like Spain.
