As for Portugal,

It's very simple: if Martinez wants to have a real chance and not TOTALLY waste another opportunity (after Santos did in the WC) of a golden generation of Portuguese players,
he must understand that you can't play football with a retired deadweight in the XI
You can't play with 10 players even in the NT level

Martinez should grow a pair and bench Ronaldo, or else they stand no chance

Didn't see the Turkey game, heard it was a cracker. For me the Poland - Netherlands was the best game till date, nice football with quality players involved.

Martinez made soo many mistakes yesterday. It wasnt as clueless as Santos football against bus parking teams but not much better either. Hope he learns from the match yesterday and shows us why he is called 'bald genius' 🔥🔥🔥

This EURO format is terrible. Lots of poor teams to fill up the UEFA inclusion quota. Meaningless games and to top it all up they've introduced qualification form 3rd spot.

Basically they play 3 weeks for nothing, as only two teams get eliminated.

Get your point, but it's 8 teams eliminated out of 24 (all 6 of the 4th place teams, and 2 of the 3rd place teams).

That's like saying the Copa America should only have 2 to 4 teams instead of 10.

Shouldn't be able to qualify for the knockouts if you don't win a single group game but that's how Portugal 2016 went. Even crazier when you remember that was the first tournament they changed rules to allow that to happen. Rigged?

Absolutely agree about too many teams. There are qualifications that work as mini tournaments and provide entertainment for every nation.

Euro is/was supposed to be final tournament with very best teams.

They is a prostitution of football on Fifa and club level as well. Next is wild cards for teams from other continents that can pay well.

There is simply too much money and too many corrupt people deciding.

After Euros we will have another "invention" with Champions league new format which is basically even more matches and more whoreing out.

No, it isn't at all. SA have less countries, but their level is far above the common average of European NTs. And evel weakest teams like Bolivia, Venezuela or Peru would smash likes of San Marino, Latvia or even next tier teams like Bulgaria, Moldova, Armenia etc.

Euros were much more fun to watch with tighter format, because top teams were already fighting among themselves in group stages and stakes were high. There were lot more drama, when likes of Italy or Spain didn't get second place and were eliminated. Now it's virtually impossible and group stage matches between powerhouses are only formality for establishing who will play with whom in playoffs. Most matches are shit borefests, because too many shit teams.

The same goes with world cups and i hear they want to expand everything even more. Why don't we just abolish qualification and don't let every team play in one big tournament? Ah yes, revenue.
