Don't see why not. They're probably already in Spain, so it has no bearings really. They'll end their journey in the competition tonight anyway.

Ban all Russian teams from European sporting competitions?

But I guess UEFA are cowards and will hope Betis does the job for them.

So you want more citizens of Ukraine dead. Dont be so insensitive.

It's not like Russia is being attacked by Ukraine, it's the other way around. You do know Zenit is a Russian club, not from Ukraine, right? So why would Russia attacking outside of their boarders have any meaning to Zenit's players and their family?

Yes I know there is about 30% of Russian population living in Ukraine (or at least they speak Russian as their first language), but I imagine players don't have family living in Ukraine, especially since it's always been a high risk area in recent times.

They moved CL final from them, will probably go to London again
Does it matter though? I mean it isn't like Russia will care about UEFA

Putin cares about sports a lot. Finland beating Russia in ice hockey Olympic final was massive beat for him. (Absolutely loved that moment..) Russia losing to small Finland probably hurt him more than losing ten thousand soldiers. Ego.

Soviet Union was all about being healthy, promoting good health and fitness. Sport was their pride and way to show the world how great they are. I think Putin has same mindset to this.

Sports and army was the way to show the world how great Soviet Union was.
