Agger hasn't been anywhere near as good as he was in Benitez years.

Coates is a very very very good CB, i put him in my fantasy team the second liverpool signed him. However we'll see how he does in the Premier League, as it can take foreign players 1 or 2 season to adapt. Even after a good start in his first season Coloccini was found wanting occasionally due to the pace and physicality. He had 5 or 6 bad games in his 1st season out of 38 and that was enough for Match of the Day pundits to have a go at him and scapegoat him, and thus making the masses who hardly watch Newcastle play 90mins think he's a bad defender. That is probably still the reason some ignroant posters today think he sucks.

I don't think he sucks, I just don't think he is good enough at the highest level.

Do you think the likes of Carroll, Adam, Downing and Henderson are good enough for the 'highest level'?

No I don't (though Carroll has the best chance to do so).

However my point is we DO need a centre back, but out of the 4 centre backs we do have, we need the replacement to be an upgrade on them and as I said I do not see Coloccini as an upgrade on the 4 that we do have. The players you mentioned were upgrades on the positions which needed upgrading.

Hopefully I explained myself well there!!

I am not saying Coloccini is crap, because he isn't just that I think we need a top class centre back as carra's replacement.

Who knows Coloccini may well prove me wrong in the future however this is my assesment so far in his career.

Captain Coloccini leads Newcastle to 3rd place in the league, and still UNBEATEN in the Premier League!

3-1 win away at Stoke. We only conceded due to a soft penalty, but we still have the BEST DEFENCE in the Premier League, with the least number of goals conceded!

HBA... don't advertise your players here. I have a serious doubt on Ed and I think you, through Ed, are in a way responsible for Carroll and Enrique's transfers to Liverpool.

You post here again if you want Coloccini to follow them too, just saying
